Spy photos of the new production-version Denza Z have surfaced online, revealing a design that closely follows the concept unveiled in April at the Shanghai Auto Show.

While the official launch date remains unknown, the shots provide a fairly clear look at what promises to be one of the most intriguing newcomers in the Chinese electric sports car scene—visually reminiscent of the Porsche 911.

New Denza Z, what we know

The design of the Denza Z adopts the brand’s Pure Emotion styling language, featuring a rounded front end and highly distinctive headlights. Compared to the concept, the front bumper has been slightly revised: the black trim now adopts a trapezoidal layout, replacing the inverted trapezoid seen on the prototype.

However, it’s the side profile where the Denza Z really grabs attention: the silhouette strongly recalls the Porsche 911, with fluid lines and a gently sloping rear. Details like frameless windows, flush door handles, door-mounted mirrors, and air intakes on both front and rear wheel arches highlight a design crafted with careful attention to detail. The dual five-spoke wheels, while appearing slightly smaller than those on the concept, retain a sporty and cohesive look.

At the rear, the Denza Z keeps the concept’s signature dual-diamond taillight design, while the bumper has been redesigned for a more integrated appearance—though at the expense of aerodynamics. Interestingly, the fixed rear spoiler from the concept is missing in this version; it remains to be seen whether it will be offered as an optional feature or reserved for a future special edition.

The Chinese electric sports car market is currently highly polarized: on one end, ultra-premium models like the Yangwang U9 (starting at 1.68 million yuan, approx. €220,000) and the GAC Aion Hyper SSR (from 1.286 million yuan, around €160,000); on the other, more affordable options like the MG Cyberster, starting at 319,800 yuan (around €40,000), designed for everyday use.

The Denza Z is expected to fall into a competitive mid-range category, aiming to challenge high-performance electric sedans like the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra (from 529,900 yuan, approx. €70,000) and the Mercedes-Benz EQE AMG (starting at 862,000 yuan, approx. €115,000).
