While the previous Lynk & Co 08 is arriving in Europe (our test drive here), in China it is being updated alongside the sleeker and more elegant Lynk & Co 07 sedan, which will not be available in Europe. Both updated models are set to debut at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 29.
The most distinctive feature of this new generation is the addition of a LiDAR sensor on the roof, a technology that promises a significant step forward in driver assistance systems.
A Strategy to Strengthen the Brand
The brand, part of the Geely group and positioned in the market between Geely Galaxy and Zeekr, currently offers ten models.

Despite the strong performance of the 03 sedan and the Z20 electric crossover, the 07 and 08 are not yet among the brand’s bestsellers: in the first seven months of 2025, the 08 EM-P sold just over 21,000 units, while the 07 EM-P reached around 11,000. With this update, Lynk & Co aims to boost demand by leveraging more advanced driver assistance technologies.
Design Inspired by the “The Next Day” Concept
Aesthetically, both vehicles retain the design language of the The Next Day concept, with headlights integrated into the bumper and LED daytime running lights positioned high near the hood.

Inside, the 07 features a red interior, while the 08 introduces a new orange color. The design and hardware updates are limited but functional, helping distinguish these versions from previous models.
LiDAR and G-Pilot Systems: The Real Innovation
The true game-changer is the LiDAR mounted on the roof, paving the way for integration with the G-Pilot H5 driver assistance system. This package uses two Nvidia Orin X chips with a combined computing power of 508 TOPS and can handle advanced functions such as automated navigation even on urban roads.

Top-tier versions may adopt the more advanced G-Pilot H7, which features the brand-new Nvidia Drive Thor SoC (700 TOPS) and enables point-to-point navigation without maps, along with memory parking—a system already used in the flagship Lynk & Co 900 SUV.
Dimensions and powertrains
The Lynk & Co 07 EM-P measures 4.83 meters long and 1.90 meters wide, with a 2.84-meter wheelbase. Its plug-in hybrid system combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor, producing a total of 280 kW (375 hp). The 19 kWh battery allows up to 126 km of electric range under the CLTC cycle.
The Lynk & Co 08 EM-P, a mid-size SUV, is 4.82 meters long and 1.91 meters wide, with a 2.85-meter wheelbase. The front-wheel-drive version also offers 280 kW, while the all-wheel-drive variant adds a second electric motor on the rear axle, reaching 585 hp. Electric range varies from 120 to 245 km, depending on battery size and drivetrain configuration.
