With a significant influence from the EV9, the 2024 Kia EV6, three years after its launch, changes its frontal look to be in line with the most recent vehicles, the EV9 itself, and the new Sorento, as well as the other upcoming electric siblings.

But besides a more personal and dystopian design, the EV6 also brings along a larger battery that increases its range to over 550 km. It should be noted, however, that the new values for the model homologated in Europe have not yet been made public. The updated EV6 is expected to arrive in Europe between late 2024 and early 2025.

The new features of the 2024 Kia EV6

The most substantial design updates of the 2024 Kia EV6 concern the front, where the headlights have been completely revised.

Indeed, the proportions, the muscular lines on the hood, and even the bumper design remain, but the headlights have a square C pattern, thinner and with body parts inside them, and now they are connected at the center creating a unique scheme.

The front grilles are also larger, increasing their aggressiveness, and new designs for the wheels have also been introduced, with a diamond pattern and dual coloration.

There are also updates for the interiors, where the steering wheel design has been revised, now also with three spokes, and new upholstery and color options have been introduced.

The dual display remains curved, but now it aligns with the EV9 in terms of graphic design and infotainment version, which is much more intuitive.

Moreover, the software now supports OTA updates.

The new 84 kWh battery

The 2024 Kia EV6 updates its battery, increasing it from 77.4 to 84 kWh, and as mentioned, this increases the range. In Korean tests, it reaches up to 494 km, which means an increase to over 550 km for European homologations, since it already stands at around 520-530 km for the single-motor model.

The powertrain range remains unchanged: there’s a single-motor system delivering 226 hp to the rear wheels and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with 321 hp. It remains to be seen if the Kia EV6 GT will also undergo changes, perhaps derived from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N with a power of 641 hp.
