Geely officially unveils the new Lynk & Co 900, the brand’s new flagship in China. In Europe, the flagship model will be the Lynk & Co 08, already available in China for a year and arriving here in the summer.

Despite a paradigm shift—Volvo has transferred all its stake in Lynk & Co to Zeekr—the Lynk & Co 900 is built on Volvo’s SPA Evo platform. This is the same architecture underpinning the Volvo XC90, EX90, S90, ES90, and XC60, as well as the outgoing Lynk & Co 09, the Polestar 1, and the Polestar 3. It’s also the base of the new Zeekr 9X Grand, the first Zeekr hybrid and the first not to use the SEA platform.

Lynk & Co 900: Sleek design and countless screens

The front features a distinctive design with LED daytime running lights and an eye-catching ISD interactive display made of 10,192 micro-lamps. Active front air intakes improve aerodynamics, alongside a streamlined profile and integrated roof rails. At the rear, a single taillight unit houses 8 rows of 2,400 LEDs—for a total of nearly 20,000 lighting points between front and rear.

Its dimensions are imposing: 5.2 meters long, 1.99 wide, and 1.80 high, with a wheelbase of 3.1 meters and 194 mm ground clearance. Despite its generous size, it has a low drag coefficient of 0.291 Cd, impressive for a vehicle of this class. Five colors are available: black, silver, gray, blue, and white, with 20- or 21-inch wheels.

The Lynk & Co 900’s cabin features a six-seat configuration (2+2+2) with ample space for all occupants. A massive 30-inch 6K screen dominates the center, powered by Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8295 chip. The instrument panel is a slim 12.66-inch LCD, and the gear selector is integrated into the steering column.

Highlights of the center console include two 50W wireless charging pads, 42 storage compartments, and a 300-liter trunk with an additional 20-liter hidden compartment.

The second-row seats slide 550 mm on rails and can rotate 180 degrees, while the third row offers reclining backrests and 125 mm of sliding adjustment. Comfort is further enhanced by a dual-chamber air suspension and 4-piston brake calipers in the mid trims.

The most high-tech Lynk & Co ever

The G-Pilot autonomous driving system is available in two versions:

  • The base H5 with two Nvidia Drive Orin-X chips;
  • The advanced H7 with a single Nvidia Drive Thor processor.

Both systems support Navigate On Autopilot on highways and in urban areas, marking a new level of sophistication in Chinese assisted driving.

Lynk & Co 900: Never under 700 hp

The Lynk & Co 900 is available in four plug-in hybrid variants, all combining an internal combustion engine with one or more electric motors.

The base version pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (188 hp) with two electric motors (160 kW front, 230 kW rear) for a total output of 711 hp and 220 km of electric range (CLTC), thanks to a 44.85 kWh battery—larger than the one in the electric Fiat 500. The total range is 1,335 km.

The mid-tier model combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (251 hp) with two electric motors (123 kW front, 230 kW rear) for a total of 724 hp. With a 52.38 kWh battery—similar to the top-trim Renault 5 E-Tech—it offers 280 km of electric range (CLTC) and a total range of 1,380 km.

Finally, the top-tier version uses the same 2.0-liter engine and three electric motors: 123 kW at the front and two rear motors totaling 340 kW. The system output is 872 hp, with 0–100 km/h acceleration in 4.3 seconds and 268 km of electric range (CLTC). Total range: an impressive 1,443 km.

Prices in China

The Lynk & Co 900 is offered in four trims with prices ranging from 309,900 to 416,900 yuan (approx. €38,000 to €55,000).

We won’t be seeing it in Europe anytime soon—at least, not in the near future.
