With this model, BYD aims to redefine the segment, bringing its Super Hybrid DM technology—already seen on the Seal U DM-i—into a lower, more efficient vehicle.
The hybrid wagon that goes the distance
The star of the event is a car designed to impress with both efficiency and versatility. With a claimed combined range of up to 1,505 kilometers, the Seal 6 DM-i Touring positions itself as a genuine alternative to traditional sedans and wagons, offering a balance of comfort, innovation, and sustainability.

During the Munich press conference, the company will go beyond introducing its new plug-in hybrid: it will also provide updates on its European strategy and showcase the revolutionary Flash Charging system, a technology that pushes the boundaries of electric mobility.
Throughout the show, until September 8, media representatives will be welcomed at the “BYD Oasis,” set up at the Wappenhalle just steps from the West entrance of the fairgrounds. Here, several of the brand’s most representative models will be on display, alongside vehicles from Denza.
Charging stations with 1 MW power
From September 9 to 14, the public will also have the chance to experience the latest innovations from the Chinese group in two different locations in the heart of Munich:
- Odeonsplatz: the new Seal 6 DM-i Touring will be showcased alongside models such as the Seal, Seal U DM-i, Dolphin Surf, Atto 2, Sealion 7, and the Denza Z9GT.
- Königsplatz: this will become the stage for the brand’s most advanced technologies. Here, visitors will be able to witness the debut of the 1-megawatt Flash Charging system, capable of delivering around 400 kilometers of range in just five minutes.
Also at Königsplatz, visitors will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of BYD’s lineup. The range includes both fully electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids from the Super Hybrid family, all equipped with cutting-edge propulsion systems designed to deliver performance and sustainability.
