The new Cupra Raval finally arrived.
It’s a just-over-four-metre hatchback priced from 189,990 DKK in Denmark and scheduled to reach the market in June 2026. The model sits on Volkswagen Group’s new MEB+ platform and is the first car from the group’s Electric Urban Car family — designed, developed and produced in Barcelona.
A bold new platform
While the Raval shares its underpinnings with other upcoming models in the VW Group’s compact EV lineup, Cupra has made a number of chassis-specific changes. Ride height has been lowered 15mm from the platform baseline, and the car gets progressive steering alongside a Cupra-tuned suspension setup.

On higher trim levels, an adaptive DCC Sport damper system and an electronic limited-slip differential are included — features that are relatively uncommon at this price point and in this size class.

Early test drives have described the handling in fairly enthusiastic terms, with go-kart comparisons appearing in several first impressions. How that translates to everyday driving on varied road surfaces remains to be seen in more comprehensive tests.
Focus on driving dynamics
The Raval is offered with two battery sizes. The 37 kWh version provides a claimed range of around 310 km (WLTP), while the 52 kWh variant reaches up to 440 km. DC charging from 10 to 80 percent takes approximately 24 minutes, with a peak charging rate of 88–105 kW depending on the version.

The top VZ variant produces 226 hp and 290 Nm, with a 0–100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds. One-pedal driving and an E-Launch function are also available.
Boot space is rated at 441 litres, which is notably more than the larger Cupra Born. Models with the larger battery are approved for trailer towing up to 1,200 kg — a specification that broadens the car’s usability compared to many competitors in the segment.
Technology matters – as usual
The cabin features a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 12.9-inch infotainment screen. Physical controls are kept on the steering wheel. The Raval will be the first Cupra model to use an Android-based infotainment system. An optional 12-speaker Sennheiser audio system is available, as are interactive interior lighting effects.

These are optional extras rather than standard equipment across the range.
Pricing and Launch Editions (Denmark)
Three fixed configurations are available at launch:
Dynamic (211 hp / 52 kWh / 444 km) — 234,990 DKK. The entry-level launch variant with the larger battery pack.
Dynamic Plus (211 hp / 52 kWh / 439 km) — from 254,990 DKK. Adds Travel Assist 3.0, parking assistance, Matrix LED headlights, bucket seats and the Sennheiser sound system.
VZ Extreme (226 hp / 52 kWh / 387 km) — 284,990 DKK. The top variant, equipped with 3D-detailed bucket seats, 19-inch Sulfur Green alloys with performance tyres, a panoramic roof and matte Manganese paintwork.
The three launch editions are only available during the introductory phase. The wider model range, including the base version from 189,990 DKK, is expected to follow in the autumn.
