With 26 years of experience in the automotive industry, Katrin Adt brings a wealth of leadership across Daimler and Mercedes‑Benz. A law graduate by training, she has held a range of senior roles including CEO of Mercedes‑Benz in Luxembourg, Vice President of Human Resources Development at Daimler, CEO of Smart, and CEO of Mercedes‑Benz Own Retail Europe.
More recently, Adt led corporate audit at Mercedes‑Benz. Her career — focused largely on sales and retail — also includes pivotal transformation projects, notably guiding Smart’s transition to a 100% electric brand. These experiences make her well-positioned to lead Dacia through its next growth phase.
Adt’s vision for Dacia
On her appointment, Adt said:
“I am excited to join Renault Group and to lead the Dacia brand. It is a privilege to contribute to the next chapter of its remarkable success story, together with an outstanding team. Shaping companies for the future has always been my driving force. Today we are living in a pivotal moment — both technologically and socially — in our relationship with the automobile. Dacia has consistently proven the relevance of its approach with products that truly meet customer expectations. More than just a brand, Dacia represents a bold, smart, and accessible vision of mobility. Now, with the energy, ambition, and determination of all Dacia teams, as well as our suppliers, partners, and distributors, we are ready to continue this extraordinary journey.”
One of Adt’s first major tasks will be overseeing the launch of the new Dacia Bigster, a model expected to strengthen the brand’s market position. Her deep experience in retail, sales and brand transformation — combined with a proven track record on electrification projects — will be central to the Bigster’s commercial success.
Beyond the boardroom: diversity and mentoring
Adt is also noted for her commitment to diversity and mentoring women in technology and leadership roles. These priorities align with Renault Group’s wider goals for sustainable, inclusive growth and could help shape the company’s culture and talent strategy under her leadership.
