Xpeng is set to unveil the brand new Xpeng G7, a mid-size electric SUV that could mark a new era of intelligent vehicles. Touted as the brand’s first “AI car,” the G7 combines cutting-edge autonomous technology with family-friendly dimensions and innovative in-car features.
With a price tag of around €35,000 (we don’t know Scandinavian prices yet), it aims to compete aggressively in the smart EV segment.
Xpeng G7 is a new, bold step into level 3 autonomy
The Xpeng G7 introduces Level 3 autonomous driving, made possible by the company’s proprietary Turing AI chip. This high-performance processor serves as the “computing power ceiling” for the vehicle, enabling not only autonomous navigation but also a fully connected smart cockpit. The system is designed to manage shared large-scale AI models for intelligent driving and cabin interaction.

One of the G7’s standout features is the Chasing Light Panorama AR-HUD, developed in collaboration with Huawei. This innovative augmented reality head-up display spans 87 inches, projecting critical driving information across multiple lanes and eight driving scenarios. With a peak brightness of over 12,000 nits and a contrast ratio of 1800:1, it significantly enhances visibility and safety for the driver.

The G7 offers sleek proportions with a body measuring 4,892 mm long, 1,925 mm wide, and 1,655 mm high, supported by a generous 2,890 mm wheelbase. Design highlights include:
- Black air intakes;
- Contrasting side mirrors;
- Flush door handles;
- Tinted rear windows;
- A panoramic glass roof with sun protection:
- A sporty rear spoiler for an assertive stance
Inside, the G7 adopts a minimalist layout, eliminating traditional physical instruments. All driving data is projected via the AR-HUD, creating a clean and modern environment focused on digital interaction and driver immersion.
Performance and Powertrain of the Xpeng G7
Under the hood, the G7 shares the same powertrain as the G6: a 218 kW (292 hp) electric motor powered by a CALB LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack. While Xpeng has yet to reveal official range figures, the SUV emphasizes energy efficiency and real-world usability.

The Xpeng G7 is expected to launch in Q3 2025, with a base price of approximately 250,000 yuan (~€35,000 or $36,000). Given its combination of performance, technology, and affordability, it is positioned to make a strong impact in the global EV market.
