SEGA launches the open beta for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, offering players an early look at the arcade racing experience from August 29 to September 1.

The open network test features nine tracks, 21 vehicles, 12 playable characters, and 42 gadgets, allowing players to fully customize their racing experience. Vehicles and characters are classified into five types—speed, acceleration, handling, power, and turbo—which players can remix using various components to match their racing style.

Customization also extends to visual aesthetics. Players can personalize their vehicles with paints, finishes, decals, and interchangeable parts, creating unique cars for the track.

Competitive multiplayer and exclusive Rewards

The beta also serves as a key stress test for the game’s online infrastructure ahead of the official launch on September 25. Players can compete in the World Match mode, racing with up to 12 participants worldwide. Participants will also receive an exclusive decal and a special title for joining the beta.

Adding extra excitement, the Joker Festival will run for 24 hours starting at 6:00 AM on Sunday, August 31. During this event, three teams of four players each will compete for points and unique rewards. Players can also race as Joker from Persona 5, driving his Renwing vehicle.
