Renault is preparing to lift the curtain on the all-new Renault Clio, a model that has defined the compact car segment for 35 years. The world premiere of the sixth generation will take place on Monday, September 8 at 5:30 p.m. during a press conference in Munich, which will also be livestreamed on Renault’s digital events platform.
What to Expect from the New Clio
Ahead of the official reveal, an exclusive render hints at the 2026 Clio’s look. While the overall proportions should remain close to the current model—around 4.1 meters in length—the roofline is expected to be slightly lower to improve aerodynamic efficiency.
The design language will be bolder and more contemporary. A completely reworked front fascia should feature slim, sharp headlights and a diamond-pattern grille inspired by the Renault Rafale, seamlessly integrating the updated brand logo. At the rear, a more angled window and horizontally oriented taillights aim to deliver a sportier, more dynamic stance.
The cabin is set to become more advanced and connected. Expect an Android Automotive-based infotainment system with a dual-screen layout similar to Austral and Rafale, pairing a fully digital driver’s display with a central multimedia touchscreen.
Powertrains: Hybrid at the Core
The new Clio will sit on an updated version of its current platform and continue to offer mild-hybrid and full-hybrid powertrains. The latter is rumored to use a more powerful electric motor to boost performance and reduce fuel consumption.
A diesel comeback appears unlikely, and a 100% electric Clio is not planned—Renault will reserve that role for the Renault 5 E-Tech. Non-electrified petrol engines may be phased out in line with tightening European emissions rules.
IAA Munich 2025: Where to See It
From September 9 to 14, the new Clio will be on public display at Odeonsplatz in Munich during the IAA Open Space. Visitors will also find the Renault 5 and Renault 4 E-Tech electric models, plus two concept cars previewing Renault’s future.
