On the eve of the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show, Voyah — the premium brand of Dongfeng Motors — officially unveiled the new Voyah Courage, a mid-size electric SUV aimed directly at rivals such as Tesla Model Y.

Pricing starts at around 202,900 yuan (€25,000) and goes up to 242,900 yuan (€30,000), with three variants available.

A Striking Design

The standout feature of the Voyah Courage is the 46.75-inch front panel, known as the Flashing Star River Smart Light Screen. This light strip not only enhances the front design but also offers up to eight preset effects: from welcome/farewell animations to charging status indicators and even music-synchronized light shows. All effects are customizable via OTA updates.

The proportions remain sleek: 4.81 meters long, 1.90 meters wide, and 1.63 meters high, with a generous 2.92-meter wheelbase. Hidden B, C, and D pillars contribute to an elegant and dynamic profile.

Digital Interior and Comfort

Inside, technology dominates: a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster paired with an AR head-up display and a large 15.6-inch central touchscreen, powered by the HarmonySpace 5 system and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip.

Comfort has not been overlooked: there are 35 storage compartments, including a 72-liter private compartment and a 7-liter hot/cold refrigerator. Additional features include wireless smartphone charging, rear tray tables, OEKO-TEX-certified upholstery safe for children, and the “Voyah Sound” audio system with headrest speakers and ambient lighting.

The top version of the Courage comes equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 4 system, using a 192-line LiDAR and 29 sensors around the vehicle. This advanced suite takes driver assistance to a higher level, moving closer to full autonomous driving.

800V Platform and Performance

The SUV is built on an 800V silicon carbide architecture, offered in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations:

  • The RWD version delivers 308 hp.
  • The AWD version combines a 235 hp front motor with a 308 hp rear motor.

Power comes from an 81 kWh battery pack, which provides up to 650 km of range (CLTC cycle). Fast charging is particularly impressive: thanks to 5C technology and a peak charging power of 440 kW, just 15 minutes of charging can restore more than 500 km of range.
