Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its most daring concept yet: the AMG GT XX, a high-performance electric four-door prototype that offers a glimpse into the future of Affalterbach’s electrification strategy. This isn’t just another EV with a powerful badge; the GT XX redefines the boundaries of electric mobility with a groundbreaking new architecture designed entirely in-house.
Over 1,000 kW of Pure Power
At the heart of the AMG GT XX lies a revolutionary drivetrain featuring three axial-flux electric motors — a leap beyond the more common radial-flux motors. Developed with the help of Yasa, the British electric motor specialist now owned by Mercedes-Benz, these units deliver three times the power density at roughly two-thirds the weight.

This technical layout allows the GT XX to unleash over 1,000 kW of total output — that’s 1,360 horsepower — and reach a top speed of 360 km/h. But performance here isn’t just about straight-line numbers.

Thanks to a new thermal management strategy, the vehicle can deliver consistent peak performance, even under repeated hard driving or track use — a major leap forward for electric sports cars.

Equally impressive is the battery. Developed from scratch, it allows for an ultra-rapid recharge: up to 400 km of range in just five minutes.

This places the AMG GT XX among the fastest-charging EVs ever announced and signals a new era of usability for high-performance electric vehicles.
A Radical New Design Language
If the engineering pushes the envelope, the design tears it up altogether. Described as a study in “sensual purity,” the GT XX concept fuses Mercedes-AMG’s racing heritage — from the legendary 300 SL to the Silver Arrows — with a boldly futuristic form language.

Visually, it shares DNA with the Vision One Eleven, offering a glimpse into the upcoming AMG.EA platform, which will underpin production models from 2026 onward.

While fans of traditional AMG styling may find the look polarizing, it undeniably marks a new chapter for the brand — one where the past and future collide in audacious fashion.
