MG has released the first official image of an updated MG4 EV alongside the announcement of an entirely new variant, the MG4 Urban.
Since its launch in 2022, the MG4 has established itself as one of the most affordable and versatile electric cars in the hatchback segment. Its competitive pricing, solid range, and engaging driving dynamics have made it a strong alternative to more established rivals. With the upcoming updates, MG aims to further strengthen this position by improving technology, interior quality, and overall design.
The MG4 2026
The updated MG4 EV, arriving as a 2026 model year car, brings a noticeable step forward in both perceived quality and driving experience. MG has focused on upgrading the cabin, with improved materials and a more refined interior environment, while also sharpening the car’s driving dynamics. Design updates, both inside and out, are intended to give the MG4 EV a more modern and confident presence on the road.
These changes are designed to keep the MG4 competitive in a fast-moving electric market, where customer expectations around comfort, infotainment, and driving feel continue to rise.
What’s new in the MG4 Urban
Alongside the updated standard model, MG is introducing the MG4 Urban, a brand-new variant that broadens the appeal of the MG4 range. The Urban version is aimed at drivers looking for maximum accessibility and everyday practicality in an electric hatchback, without sacrificing the core strengths that have defined the MG4 since launch.
With the MG4 EV Urban, MG expands its electric offering to better cover different customer needs within the compact EV segment, reinforcing its focus on value-driven electric mobility.
Scandinavian Launch
In Denmark and the other Scandinavian countries, the refreshed MG4 EV is expected to launch in spring 2026, with the MG4 EV Urban following in summer 2026. Detailed specifications and pricing will be announced closer to the respective launch dates.
As with the rest of MG’s electric lineup, both MG4 models will be covered by MG’s comprehensive 7-year factory warranty, or up to 150,000 km, underlining the brand’s confidence in its electric technology.
