We were on-site on a windy day on the outskirts of Copenhagen to take a closer look at what is likely Nissan’s most exciting new model in years: the new Nissan Micra EV.
Nissan is introducing a new generation of the Micra, which this time arrives as a compact electric car based on the Renault 5 E-Tech platform.
Nissan Micra in brief
While Danish pricing has yet to be announced, we do know that the Micra will share its battery options with its Renault sibling. Buyers will be able to choose between a 40 kWh or a 52 kWh battery, with the latter offering up to 150 horsepower. The expected range is up to 407 km (WLTP) with the larger battery. Fast charging is possible at up to 100 kW DC with the larger battery or 80 kW DC with the smaller one.

Interestingly, the Micra is actually 5.2 mm longer than the Renault 5, though the cabin remains identical in both size and quality. It offers 326 liters of luggage space, which can be expanded to 1,106 liters with the rear seats folded down. One unique feature exclusive to the Micra is the option to add Nissan’s e-Pedal, available on higher trim levels, that is something you won’t find on the Renault 5.

The Micra will also come in two exclusive colors: Ocean Blue and Rebel Red, with white as the standard color.

In Denmark, the Micra will be offered in three trim levels: Engage, Advance, and the range-topping Evolve. We expect to get behind the wheel of the new Nissan Micra later this year, just as pricing is expected to be announced. It’s also confirmed that a new-generation Nissan Leaf will arrive in 2025, and a fully electric Nissan Juke is set to be unveiled toward the end of the year
