Ford GT will “die” in october

After nearly a decade of hand-built craftsmanship, production of the Ford GT is drawing to a close with a dedicated, track-born variant developed by Ford Performance in collaboration with Multimatic Motorsports. The Ford GT Mk IV, designed for track days, features an all-new body and a full carbon-fiber chassis.

Every surface serves function first: thanks to targeted aerodynamic upgrades, the Mk IV generates over one metric ton of downforce at 240 km/h, keeping the car pinned through high-speed sections.

Mounted behind the cockpit is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 producing over 820 hp, good for a 0–100 km/h sprint in around 3.0 seconds. Power is delivered through a racing clutch paired with a six-speed sequential transmission.

The suspension employs Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) dampers that drivers can adjust to suit track conditions. On the circuit, the GT Mk IV can sustain up to 3 g of lateral acceleration and has demonstrated lap performance quicker than the Ford GTLM race car.
