The Dutch charging operator PowerGo prepares to roll out some of the fastest public chargers on the Danish market. Each station will feature chargers with up to 480 kW capacity, enough to deliver over 300 kilometers of range in under 10 minutes, depending on the car and conditions.

The new fast-charging hubs will be strategically located along busy traffic corridors:

  • Torkilstrup Syd along Route 21, heading toward Holbæk and Odsherred (Zealand)
  • Dall, just off the E45 north of Aalborg (North Jutland)
  • Årslev Øst, near E45 close to Aabenraa and the German border (Southern Jutland)

The three new fast-charging stations are expected to open later this year and are part of PowerGo’s growing presence in Denmark. The new charging stations will complement their existing sites, such as those at Lillebælt Syd and Haderup. By reducing charging time significantly, the new 480 kW stations are expected to make EV travel more practical and appealing, especially for long-distance drivers.

PowerGo: dynamic pricing and smart access

To give users more control and flexibility, PowerGo uses dynamic pricing, adjusting rates hourly based on electricity demand and the share of renewable energy in the grid. Drivers can monitor prices and start charging via the PowerGo app, or simply use a card or charging fob.

This system encourages users to charge during off-peak hours, promoting both cost savings and sustainable energy use.

With these new contracts, PowerGo has now won 19 public tenders in Denmark and operates over 1,600 public charging points across 16 municipalities. The company continues to expand in collaboration with the Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet), aiming to ensure widespread, fast, and reliable EV charging nationwide.
