First chapter was really good, but since October 19, the second chapter of Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged has been available, and its launch is celebrated by a specially made trailer.
The license is from Mattel, but the game is entirely made in Europe. It is developed by the Italian software house Milestone, the same company that also develops Monster Energy Supercross, as well as official video games for Moto GP and Superbike, totaling over 50 titles. It is available for Play Station 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).

More quality, more fun
First of all, there is a graphical change in the new chapter. But there are also many changes in gameplay that make it more interesting and in-depth, all while never forgetting the playful spirit of these extravagant cars, which primarily appeal to those under 35, who grew up with Hot Wheels cars.
In this case, there is also a story. A mad scientist has developed a device to shrink monstrous creatures that cyclically attack the game’s protagonists, a boy and a girl. These monsters must be defeated not with punches but by winning races with Hot Wheels in settings once again taken from the old toy sets, which naturally become more complicated over time.
The choice is new compared to the first chapter, but not compared to Hot Wheels, as it recalls the commercials from the 1990s and 2000s in which there were enemies to defeat on every toy car track by launching cars at them.
But that’s not all. There are also elimination races and three new vehicle categories, divided into Motorcycles, Quads, and Monster Trucks, which prove to be even more customizable and colorful. And then, the new track builder. The ability to build tracks according to your own taste was also present in the first chapter, but Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged offers even more features, increasing creative possibilities with a wider variety of objects and more modeling options to stimulate creativity.
And the gameplay also changes, with the ability to jump and even adjust your airtime, as well as increased levels of depth that allow you to interact with obstacles or annoy enemies by crashing into them.
This single-player campaign also serves as a tour of all the new features introduced by Milestone in this chapter, such as elimination races and the three new vehicle categories: monster trucks, quads, and motorcycles. However, the most significant advancements have been made in the track builder, the system that allows us to create our custom Hot Wheels track. Here, the options have been expanded in terms of both object variety and manipulation to make the title even more of a creative tool.
