Infact, Nintendo recently released the sixth and final pack of Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This game is among the best-selling and most beloved on the Japanese console, and it now features all the characters racing on the streets of Rome—the first and, for now, the only Italian city available.
The content introduces ‘Romantic Rome‘ or “Rome Avanti”, expanding Mario Kart 8 to a total of 96 circuits and enhancing the urban offerings. The course is downloadable only by purchasing the additional courses pass for the video game, which can be done directly on the console (186 DKK/270 DKK/225 NOK) or by including it in the Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Perhaps biased, but trying it out, Rome certainly stands out among the best-recreated cities in the game, alongside Athens, Berlin, and Amsterdam. The most disappointing? Tokyo and Los Angeles. It should be clear that this is a personal ranking.
In any case, the Eternal City, recreated in the playful style of Mario Kart, joins the other cities in the game. All players can race in:

In Rome with Gladiator Donkey Kong – dejligt!
The addition of Rome to the selection comes with a fun Gladiator version of Donkey Kong, the good gorilla from the Super Mario universe.
The course takes place in a romantic nighttime tour of the Eternal City, highlighting perfectly reproduced monuments. As in all circuits of this type, it’s not guaranteed that they are exactly where they are in reality, but they are aligned according to a specially recreated path, while remaining realistic in their features.
Rome, even in the video game, appears as beautiful as it is challenging. It features a succession of demanding curves, narrow alleys, and ancient obstacles in the grand squares, making the Mario Kart experience, as usual with its player shenanigans, even more entertaining.
