Dacia is not ready to let the classic station wagon disappear. On the contrary, the brand is now launching a completely new model, the Dacia Striker, which combines practical family qualities with a more rugged crossover look.

The model was officially unveiled as part of the Renault Group’s new strategy, “futuREady”.

Hybrid only

Under the bodywork, the Striker shares technology with several of the brand’s other models. It is built on the CMF-B platform, which is also used in models such as the Duster and Bigster. Dacia has confirmed that the model will be offered with several powertrains, including both hybrid and LPG versions. In addition, the Striker will also be available in a Hybrid 4×4 version.

The system is already known from the Duster and consists of a 1.2 liter mild-hybrid turbo petrol engine, an additional electric motor on the rear axle, a 48 volt battery, and a six speed dual-clutch gearbox. The combined output is 152 hp, which will most likely also be the case in the Striker. The previously mentioned hybrid is expected to be a 1.8 full hybrid.

A mix between hatchback and station wagon

The new Striker measures 4.62 meters in length, making it 50 mm longer than the Dacia Bigster and therefore the largest model the brand has produced so far. Dacia has not yet released images of the interior, but everything indicates that the Striker will feature a five-seat layout. This means the seven-seat role will remain with the Jogger.

The dashboard is expected to be shared with the Duster and Bigster, likely including a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and Dacia’s practical YouClip system, which allows various accessories to be mounted around the cabin.

According to Dacia, the focus is on “real customer needs and everyday usability.” This points to a spacious cabin, durable materials, and a large luggage compartment—elements that suit families and active lifestyles. At the same time, the Striker is expected to be available with the same camping and outdoor accessories already offered for the Jogger, Duster, and Bigster.

Dacia itself describes the car as a station wagon, but it is closer to a hatchback in the style of the new Citroën C4, which is no longer sold in Denmark.

Price below €25,000

Despite its size, Dacia is expected to maintain its well-known budget focus. The starting price will be below €25,000. We hope that Dacia will bring the model also to Denmark, although the Danish tax system may make it difficult.

The Striker’s official launch is planned for June 2026, and production is expected to take place at a Renault factory in Turkey. The factory in Romania will continue to focus on the production of the Duster and Bigster.
