BorromeodeSilva, the Italian automotive design studio, has unveiled the first images of their latest creation, the BorromeodeSilva STL-1. This groundbreaking project introduces a novel interpretation of the 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, transforming it into a rugged off-road marvel.

Rooted in a deep-seated passion for this iconic model, the concept of restomodding merges nostalgia with innovation. The ambition behind the BorromeodeSilva STL-1 was to craft a vehicle capable of traversing both highways and rugged trails. This endeavor demanded meticulous design exploration to accentuate the Mustang’s timeless features while integrating modern, avant-garde solutions with premium finishes.

Introducing the BorromeodeSilva STL-1

BorromeodeSilva’s rendition of the muscle car, the STL-1, embodies a fusion of aesthetic and mechanical enhancements, creating a true Ford Mustang All-Terrain vehicle that seamlessly combines the essence of American muscle with cutting-edge Italian technology.

Furthermore, the STL-1 introduces a digital dashboard, a new sports steering wheel, and redesigned seats, along with myriad subtle details awaiting discovery within its cabin.

Engineering Marvel

The chassis of the STL-1 has been reconstructed using specialized, resilient steel, providing a sturdier framework compared to the original. The vehicle sits higher off the ground, accommodating all-terrain tires wrapped around Turbine wheels.

Additionally, significant mechanical upgrades have been implemented to enhance off-road capabilities. The STL-1 boasts a reimagined undercarriage complete with independent suspension, internal brakes, a new differential, and an upgraded driveshaft for improved performance.

Visually, the vehicle retains its original allure, albeit with subtle modifications. A reworked front bumper now houses rally-inspired fog lights and a skid plate for added protection, while the rear bumper has been slimmed down to increase ground clearance.

Performance Reimagined

Under the hood lies the heart of the STL-1: the 5.0 Road Runner V8 engine. This high-performance variant of the potent 5.0L Coyote, which made its debut in the 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302, delivers exceptional power and torque. With a forged steel crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons, and CNC-machined cylinder heads, this engine is primed to tackle any challenge with ease.
