Volvo has now officially unveiled its brand-new electric SUV, the Volvo EX60 2026. The top version offers up to 810 kilometers of range, making it clear that the Swedish manufacturer is going head-to-head with the latest generation of electric SUVs from German premium brands such as the BMW iX3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC.

New platform and 810 km range

As Volvo waves goodbye to the fossil-fueled XC60 (but not at the beginning in some countries), it also welcomes the new all-electric EX60. The Volvo EX60 2026 is built on an entirely new, dedicated electric vehicle platform called SPA3.

The Volvo EX60 will be launched in three different variants, all offering an impressive range of over 800 km according to Volvo, which the brand describes as a “game changer” in the segment. Volvo also states that under optimal conditions, it will be possible to add up to 340 km of range in just 10 minutes of charging.

The most advanced Volvo cabin to date

The cabin looks unmistakably Volvo, as always, with a minimalist and clean design. There are very few physical buttons, but as a new feature, the system supports Google Gemini AI. The large touchscreen also integrates Google, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm technologies. In short, it offers full Google functionality and responds very quickly to user input.

Volvo calls the system HuginCore, designed to make the user experience easier, as drivers can talk to the car to adjust settings or get assistance. Volvo also offers premium audio solutions, topped by a Bowers & Wilkins sound system with 28 speakers, including speakers integrated into the headrests of all outer seats. The infotainment system also supports Apple Music with Dolby Atmos, allowing occupants to stream immersive spatial audio directly in the car.

Cargo space is competitive, offering up to approximately 1,820 liters with the rear seats folded down and 580 liters with the seats up. In addition, there is a front trunk (frunk) of around 85 liters, ideal for charging cables. Rear-seat passengers also benefit from generous space thanks to the new and larger platform.

Built in Sweden

While some of Volvo’s recent electric models have been built in China, USA or Belgium, the Volvo EX60 will be produced in Sweden, in the city of Gothenburg. The car is already available for order. The first rear-wheel-drive and base AWD versions are expected to be delivered this summer, while the top model will follow later.

Prices in Denmark start at DKK 545,000 and go up to DKK 645,900
