Polestar has always accustomed us to very interesting concept cars, from the Precept of 2020 to the O2 or Polestar 6 Concept of 2022. At the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it presents the Polestar Concept BST, similar in style to the other two but introducing a new idea of extreme electric sportiness, which finally brings the brand back to its origins, those of the former sports team now Cyan Racing with the first car, the Polestar 1.
The concept car is the brand’s star, and at the festival, it showcases its entire range for the first time, consisting of the fastback Polestar 2, the SUV Polestar 3, and the SUV coupé Polestar 4.
Polestar Concept BST, the Most Extreme
The Polestar Precept marked the brand’s new stylistic direction and anticipated a luxury shooting brake, the future Polestar 5, which is expected to be unveiled in 2025.
The Polestar O2 adopted its design language in a more compact and convertible form, futuristic with its integrated drone, and it previewed the Polestar 6, an electric convertible aiming to compete, among others, with the MG Cyberster while positioning itself higher, and which is expected to arrive in 2026.
Now, the Polestar Concept BST elevates the performance of the Polestar 6 from which it derives to the maximum. The name BST (an acronym for Beast) recalls the one already used on the Polestar 2 BST, indicating that the brand may be aiming to create a specific line of BST editions closer to its original DNA. The design stands out for a customized body, finished in a classic motorsport silver, with flared fenders, a wider track, and 22-inch forged alloy wheels.
The aerodynamically optimized hood, with its unique vented design, is framed by an aggressive front splitter. The motorsport theme continues at the rear with an extreme rear wing and racing livery-inspired graphics.
Interestingly, like the O2, it features the possibility of opening the roof, making it a high-performance car but also a convertible to better enjoy summer trips.
The wheels are also unique, with a star design in black and white, colors that are also reflected on the tires.
Other Polestars at the Goodwood Festival
In the “first glance” paddock area, the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 are joined by the Polestar 6 Concept, making its dynamic debut as an electric roadster. The Polestar 6 will be showcased in action along the 1.2-mile hill climb in front of the festival crowds, representing the pinnacle of the current lineup of the Swedish brand.
Designed alongside the Polestar 5 and using the bespoke bonded aluminum Polestar Performance Architecture (PPA) platform, the Polestar 6 underscores the brand’s commitment to innovation and performance.
At the main stand, the Polestar Concept BST is accompanied by the Polestar 2 and the new Polestar 3 and 4.
