MG’s New Flagship in Denmark

The MG S6 EV is fundamentally built on the same platform as the MG S5 EV. Technically, the two electric models are identical, with the S6 simply being longer. Just as the S5 replaced the ZS, the S6 will become the successor to the MG HS, which was previously a plug in hybrid.

Although Danish prices are not yet confirmed, the entry-level model will be called SE Long Range, while the fully equipped top variant will be named Trophy Dual Motor. All versions come with a 77 kWh battery.

The rear wheel drive SE Long Range and Trophy Long Range produce 244 hp, accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, and offer a WLTP range of 530 km. The top model, Trophy Dual Motor with all wheel drive, delivers 361 hp, reaches 0–100 km/h in just over five seconds, but the range drops to 484 km. Charging unfortunately isn’t the fastest in its class, topping out at 144 kW.

Although the MG S6 EV has an SUV inspired look, its proportions – large windows and a short bonnet – make it feel more like a modern compact crossover. This brings clear advantages inside, with generous space in the second row for three adults, 674 litres of luggage space with the seats up, 1,910 litres with the seats folded, and an additional 124 litres of storage under the bonnet.

The interior differs from the S5 with a dual-screen setup featuring a 10.25” digital instrument cluster and a 12.8” vertical touchscreen. MG has listened to customer feedback and kept physical buttons for volume, climate settings, and other frequently used functions. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless phone charging are all included as standard.

Potential Bestseller in Denmark – If the Price Is Right!

MG can already celebrate a full five star Euro NCAP rating – with impressive sub scores: 92% for adult protection, 85% for children, 84% for vulnerable road users, and 78% for safety assistance systems.

Compared with obvious rivals such as the Skoda Enyaq, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Peugeot E 5008, we hope the MG S6 EV will be significantly cheaper. While the exact Danish arrival date has not yet been confirmed, all signs point to a launch very soon. For now, the S6 EV will be MG’s absolute flagship model on the Danish market – at least until the brand’s new premium sub brand IM arrives next year and pushes things even further upmarket.
