CUPRA is bringing back the most extreme version of its performance SUV — the Formentor VZ5. This limited-edition model, restricted to just 4,000 units, marks the return of one of the brand’s most iconic creations. Designed for pure driving pleasure, the new VZ5 will enter production in early 2026 at CUPRA’s Barcelona plant.

A thrilling 5-cylinder heart
Under the hood lies the legendary 2.5-liter TSI five-cylinder engine, delivering an impressive 390 hp and 480 Nm of torque. The powertrain is paired with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission, all-wheel drive, and a Torque Splitter that optimizes power distribution between the rear wheels.
While CUPRA hasn’t released official performance figures yet, they are expected to mirror the previous generation — meaning 0–100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The “Drift Mode” is likely to return as well, giving drivers the opportunity to unleash the SUV’s playful character on track days.

A bolder design
The new Formentor VZ5 is instantly recognizable thanks to a number of exclusive sporty design updates. The front bumper has been redesigned and now features a new splitter with the VZ5 logo, while wider fenders and a restyled rear diffuser enhance its muscular stance. At the back, the quad copper-finished exhaust tips are a signature detail, reinforcing the car’s dynamic appeal.
Completing the look are 20-inch alloy wheels with copper accents, perfectly in line with CUPRA’s distinctive design language. The SUV will be available in several bold finishes, including Midnight Black, Dark Void, Magnetic Tech Matt, Century Bronze Matt, and Enceladus Grey Matt.
