MG has confirmed Danish pricing and the full model lineup for its new IM5 and IM6, two fully electric models that bring the brand’s technology, range and performance to a level not previously offered under the MG badge. Both cars feature 800V architecture, a 100 kWh battery, long range, ultra fast charging and an extensive standard equipment list.

MG first confirmed in August that the IM5 and IM6 were coming to Denmark. With full local pricing now in place, the two models mark a genuine step up in technology and performance for the brand.

The IM5 takes the form of a sleek, sporty sedan, while the IM6 pairs the same underlying technology with the extra space, higher seating position and flexibility of an SUV body. Both share extensive standard equipment and a dedicated electric platform built around innovation, performance, safety and comfort.

From long range to 751 hp

Both the IM5 and IM6 arrive in Denmark in two versions: a Long Range variant with rear wheel drive and 407 hp, and a Performance variant with all wheel drive and 751 hp.

Underneath, both models share a dedicated EV platform built on 800V architecture and a 100 kWh NCM battery. Under optimal conditions, the large battery can fast charge at up to 396 kW, meaning a 10 to 80 percent charge can take as little as 17 minutes, a significant technological leap for MG, with both long range and fast charging now central to the brand’s flagship models.

Four variants, starting from 389,999 kroner

The Danish lineup consists of four variants across the two models. The IM5 Performance sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, while the IM6 Performance does the same in 3.5 seconds, with both Performance versions topping out at 239 km/h.

The Long Range versions are aimed at buyers who prioritise range and efficiency, while the Performance versions target those who want more power, all wheel drive and sportier handling without giving up significant range. Both models come standard with aerodynamic wheels, 19 inches on the IM5 and 20 inches on the IM6, with the Performance variants adding features such as Snow Mode and a sportier alloy wheel design on top of the already extensive standard kit. All variants have a maximum braked towing weight of 1,500 kg.

Two different takes on the same technology

Although the IM5 and IM6 share much of their underlying technology, each has been developed with different needs in mind, offering two distinct interpretations of a modern EV.

The IM5 measures 4,931 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,474 mm in height, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase providing generous cabin space. A drag coefficient of just 0.226 reflects a body optimised for low aerodynamic drag, contributing to a range of up to 710 km for the Long Range version. The low, aerodynamic shape comes in a hatchback format, offering 457 litres of boot space plus a further 18 litre frunk, expanding to 1,290 litres with the rear seats folded.

The IM6 builds on the same technical platform in a larger SUV format, measuring 4,904 mm long, 1,988 mm wide and 1,669 mm tall, with the same 2,950 mm wheelbase. Despite its larger size, it achieves a drag coefficient of 0.242, notably aerodynamic for an SUV of its dimensions. The IM6 offers 665 litres of boot space, a further 50 litres under the boot floor, and a 32 litre frunk, expanding to 1,640 litres with the rear seats folded. Its taller body also gives a higher seating position and added everyday flexibility without compromising on technology or performance.

Both models feature frameless doors, electric door handles, a powered tailgate and a distinctive LED light signature.

A high equipment level from the start

The high tech positioning of both models is especially clear inside the cabin. Central to the interior is a 26.3 inch HD screen combining infotainment and driver display, supplemented by a 10.5 inch central touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation and a ventilated 50W wireless phone charger are all standard.

Both models also include a 20 speaker sound system with 7.1.4 spatial audio and a combined output of 960 watts, alongside ambient lighting with a wide range of customisation options.

Comfort features include a panoramic glass roof, a heat pump, a heated multifunction steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, and heating for the outer rear seats. The driver’s seat is 12 way electrically adjustable with memory function, while the passenger seat adjusts electrically in six directions. Rear backrests can recline up to 6 degrees in the IM5 and up to 18 degrees in the IM6, with extra long thigh support on the outer rear seats. The IM6’s driver seat also includes massage function as standard.

The cabin has been engineered with particular attention to noise levels, with double layer acoustic glass and active road noise cancellation technology, alongside a fixed, thermally insulated double glazed panoramic roof.

Four wheel steering makes these large cars more agile

One of the more distinctive technical features across both the IM5 and IM6 is intelligent four wheel steering, standard on every variant. At low speeds, the system turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels, reducing the turning circle and making the car easier to manoeuvre. At higher speeds, the rear wheels can turn in the same direction as the front wheels, improving stability during lane changes.

Four wheel steering gives a turning radius as tight as 4.99 metres for the IM5 and 5.09 metres for the IM6, a notable figure for cars around five metres long. It also enables a Crab Mode function, where all four wheels turn in the same direction to ease manoeuvring in specific situations.

For parking, both models include a 360 degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and intelligent features such as automatic parking in bays and alongside kerbs, reversing with memory of up to 100 metres, and automated exit from parking spaces to either side.

Both models also offer V2L, allowing the car’s battery to be used as an external power source via an adapter, sold separately. An optional sport package adds intelligent air suspension, which actively adjusts the car’s damping to balance comfort and sportiness across different road conditions and driver preferences, smoothing out uneven road surfaces for a more refined ride.

Advanced safety technology

Safety plays a central role in the IM models. Both come with seven airbags as standard, and more than 80 percent of the body structure uses high or ultra high strength steel.

Active safety is supported by an extensive sensor package comprising three millimetre wave radars, nine HD cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Standard features include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot assist, active lane assist, rear cross traffic warning, safe exit warning and traffic sign recognition.

The cars’ Continental braking system can bring them to a stop from 100 km/h in just 33 metres for the IM5 and 33.76 metres for the IM6. A dedicated Rainy Night Mode uses the car’s cameras in low light or rain to display the surrounding area directly on the driver display, improving visibility in reduced sight conditions.

Both the MG IM5 and IM6 achieved a five star Euro NCAP rating in 2025.

Danish premiere at Elbilmessen

Danish buyers will get their first chance to see the MG IM5 and IM6 in person when both models make their Danish debut at Elbilmessen, held at MCH Messecenter Herning from 2 to 4 October 2026, where the two models will stand side by side for the first time, showing the breadth they add to MG’s Danish lineup.
