2026 Volvo EX30 comes to the market with new powertrain choices, enhanced software features, and expanded design options.

The manufacturer is adding an entry-level powertrain configuration to its smallest premium electric model, offering a 110-kilowatt (150 horsepower) motor paired with a 51-kilowatt-hour battery, delivering an estimated range of 339 kilometers. A larger 69-kilowatt-hour battery option provides up to 476 kilometers of range for customers planning longer journeys. These additions join existing powertrain options in the lineup.

2026 Volvo EX30 now adopts V2L technology to better compete

A notable new feature for the EX30 is Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, which allows the car’s battery to supply power to external devices and equipment. Using an adapter, owners can charge electric bicycles or operate tools, sound systems, and camping equipment directly from the vehicle. The functionality will be available in selected markets initially.

Software and interface Improvements

Volvo is redesigning the EX30’s infotainment system with an updated user interface aimed at providing faster access to frequently used controls. A new customizable content bar will enable drivers to configure their most-used functions or predictive actions within easy reach.

Interior and Exterior Options

The update includes two new interior design packages. The “Harvest” option features light-colored woven recycled textiles inspired by Scandinavian summer aesthetics, while a new “Black” interior presents deep-black upholstery with dark flax accents. The EX30 Black Edition now offers these interior options alongside three exterior colors: Onyx Black, Vapour Grey, and Crystal White.

The EX30 Cross Country range is expanding with a new Plus trim level and a single-motor variant offering improved efficiency.

Volvo plans to distribute the V2L functionality and updated user interface to both new and existing EX30 owners through over-the-air software updates beginning in summer, with several features available free of charge to current owners.
