The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is entering the world of gaming: it will soon be available in Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5. It marks the first Chinese car to join the iconic racing simulator developed by Polyphony Digital—though not the first Chinese sports model to appear in video games, having been preceded by the Lynk & Co 03++ in Forza Horizon 5.
Alongside the addition of the SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi also announced a collaboration with the Gran Turismo team to develop the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, a concept car designed specifically for the simulation. This project becomes part of the prestigious “Vision Gran Turismo” lineup, which has featured legendary names like Ferrari, Jaguar, and Suzuki.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in Gran Turismo 7
Launched in 1997 under the guidance of the visionary Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo has since featured over 1,000 vehicles and more than 50 real-world tracks, spanning from WRC to Le Mans, NASCAR, and Super GT.

Thanks to official licenses from prestigious brands like Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW, Toyota, Honda, and racing parts manufacturers like Nismo, KW, HKS, and Yokohama, GT has become a symbol of realistic simulation and passion for cars. In 2023, the franchise also inspired a movie—based on a true story—created in partnership with Nissan.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is the pinnacle of the brand’s engineering ambition. This extreme version of the SU7 sedan combines luxury, refined aerodynamics, and Xiaomi’s in-house technologies, including:
- Xiaomi’s 27,200 rpm “V8s” motor—note: not a V8 combustion engine, but the name given to their high-performance electric powertrain
- A tri-motor system delivering a combined 1,548 hp
- A high-performance track-focused battery
- A top speed of over 350 km/h
- 0–100 km/h acceleration in just 1.98 seconds

Unsurprisingly, this electric hyper-sedan has already set speed records for four-door sedans on several circuits, highlighting Xiaomi’s rapid progress in the automotive world—made even more significant by its integration into Gran Turismo.

Xiaomi’s arrival in Gran Turismo 7 is not just a corporate milestone, but also a cultural one, symbolizing the growing global recognition of China’s automotive industry. The upcoming Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo promises to push the boundaries even further—blending visionary design, advanced engineering, and immersive simulation.
