Xiaomi’s long standing Game Turbo tool is being retired in favour of a broader, more capable replacement called Game Space. The Chinese company confirmed the change recently, describing it as a dedicated gaming hub built to simplify how installed titles are managed while offering a much deeper level of personalisation. The feature is already rolling out on the newest builds of HyperOS and will reach compatible devices gradually over time.

Automatic game organisation is the first big change

One of the headline additions is automatic game organisation. Once enabled, Game Space detects newly installed titles and adds them to its library without any input needed from the user. The most frequently played games are also highlighted automatically, giving faster access to them and helping keep the home screen less cluttered. As useful as that sounds, Xiaomi treats it as just one step along the way rather than the main event.

Per game profiles replace one size fits all settings

Unlike the old Game Turbo, which applied the same generic settings across every game, Game Space introduces dedicated profiles for individual titles. This lets users tailor how the phone behaves depending on what each game actually needs. In competitive multiplayer titles, for instance, a profile can prioritise maximum performance and automatically switch on do not disturb mode to keep notifications and interruptions away during a match. In open world or graphically demanding games, a different profile can instead prioritise visual quality while keeping temperatures and power consumption under control. Once set up, these profiles are saved and applied automatically whenever the associated game is launched.

A more personal look for the gaming hub

Xiaomi has also put work into how Game Space looks and feels. Users can customise wallpapers, startup animations and dedicated widgets, turning the gaming hub into a more immersive space that reflects their own preferences, including artwork pulled directly from their favourite games.

For now, the rollout remains limited to phones already updated to the latest versions of HyperOS. Xiaomi has confirmed the release will happen gradually but has not shared a detailed timeline, so it remains a matter of waiting to see which devices get access next.
