At CES 2026, Roborock announced a major expansion of its robot vacuum lineup with the introduction of the new Roborock Saros 20 and Saros 20 Sonic. These flagship models focus on one of the most persistent limitations of robot cleaners: mobility inside real homes. With a redesigned chassis and advanced lifting technology, even high thresholds and steps are no longer an obstacle.

The key innovation is the new AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0, an upgraded hardware platform engineered to significantly improve the robots’ ability to navigate complex indoor environments. Thanks to this system, the Saros 20 models can overcome obstacles with a total height of up to approximately 8.4 centimeters. This includes multi-level barriers such as double steps measuring around 4.3 and 4 centimeters, a scenario that has traditionally stopped most robot vacuums in their tracks.

Roborock has confirmed that both the Saros 20 and Saros 20 Sonic will be released during the course of this year. However, at the time of the official unveiling, the company did not disclose pricing details or specific configurations for different markets.

Smarter movement and better carpet cleaning

The dynamic lifting system is not only about crossing thresholds. It also plays a crucial role in improving carpet cleaning performance. The robots can automatically adjust their height to adapt to carpets with pile heights of up to roughly 3 centimeters. By optimizing contact and airflow, this adjustment helps maintain strong suction performance even on thicker textiles.

The adjustable chassis also adds a practical layer of autonomy. If the robot becomes stuck on an object or uneven surface, it can attempt self-recovery maneuvers by modifying its vertical position. The goal is to reduce the need for manual intervention and allow the robot to complete cleaning tasks with minimal user involvement.

Saros 20 Sonic adds advanced floor washing

The Saros 20 Sonic differentiates itself by integrating Roborock’s VibraRise 5.0 technology, enabling active floor washing in addition to vacuuming. The improved sonic mopping system extends the reach of the cleaning pad closer to baseboards, ensuring more thorough edge cleaning along walls and room boundaries.

Through the companion app, users can fine-tune cleaning parameters such as water flow and vibration intensity, adapting the washing performance to different floor types throughout the home. This level of customization is designed to balance effective cleaning with surface protection, particularly on delicate flooring materials.
