Nissan has officially unveiled the first Nissan Juke Electric at the company’s Vision event in Japan, signaling a major advancement in its electrification roadmap across Europe. The reveal represents a pivotal moment for the Japanese automaker, which has built a strong reputation in the electric vehicle sector over the past 15 years.
The new Juke electric is the first fully electric version of the iconic crossover, which has captured the hearts of 1.5 million European customers since its launch in 2010. Maintaining the model’s distinctive design DNA while embracing zero-emission technology, the electric Juke combines agility and compact proportions with unmistakable Nissan personality, bringing excitement and emotion to the evolving world of electric vehicles.
Expanding a Comprehensive EV Lineup
The electric Juke joins Nissan’s rapidly growing zero-emission vehicle roster in Europe, which now includes the new Micra, the third-generation Leaf, the Ariya crossover, the Townstar commercial vehicle, and an upcoming A-segment model, probably based on the new Renault Twingo (as Micra is a R5 rebrand).. The new Juke will feature Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, aligning with Leaf’s capabilities to integrate electric vehicles into the broader energy ecosystem.

Complementing this electric expansion, Nissan continues to offer its e-POWER hybrid technology, enabling an electric-like driving experience without the need for charging. Models such as the Qashqai e-POWER, X-Trail e-POWER, and Juke hybrid remain essential components of Nissan’s diverse portfolio, designed to meet varying customer mobility needs.
British Manufacturing at the Core
The electric Juke will be manufactured at Nissan’s Sunderland facility in the United Kingdom, reinforcing the plant’s central role in the company’s global electric vehicle strategy. Already home to Leaf production, the Sunderland plant will begin initial Juke production in the coming weeks, cementing its position as the cornerstone of Nissan’s European electrification manufacturing footprint.

This commitment is bolstered by Nissan’s comprehensive regional capabilities, including design, engineering, and development networks across the UK, Spain, and Germany. Together, these operations underscore Nissan’s long-term dedication to Europe as a production and innovation hub—designing, engineering, and manufacturing vehicles in Europe for European customers.
Challenging Conventions with Electric Innovation
“Juke has always stood out for its bold design and willingness to challenge convention,” noted Clíodhna Lyons, Region Vice President of Product, Brand & Marketing Strategy at Nissan AMIEO. “With this third generation, we’re bringing that rebellious spirit into the electric era. The first-ever electric generation of Juke will help us reach new customers while expanding our electrified vehicle portfolio.”
Spring 2027 Launch
The third-generation Juke made its debut at Nissan’s Vision event, where the company presented its long-term direction, product roadmap, and technological innovations to international media, stakeholders, and employees. The new electric Juke is scheduled for market launch in spring 2027, marking the next chapter in the model’s storied history.
