We interviewed him less than 2 months ago, and nothing was in the air. So it’s for us a surprise that Alain Visser is stepping down from the CEO position at Lynk & Co in Europe to pursue new opportunities outside the company.

Starting from January 8, 2024, Nicolas Lopez Appelgren, currently the Head of Retail Operations at Volvo Cars, will succeed him as the CEO.

Since its inception in 2017, Lynk & Co has already delivered over a million vehicles globally, becoming one of the fastest-growing mobility brands in the world. We absolutely want to thank Alain for his many years of collaboration and for everything he has done to build a solid foundation for Lynk & Co’s future. We are excited to welcome Nicolas aboard and look forward to working together as we move towards the next phase of international development,” said Jerry Gan, CEO of Geely Auto Group.

Nicolas Lopez Appelgren replaces Visser as the CEO of Lynk & Co. With over 28 years of experience in the global marketing and retail sales sector, Appelgren is currently leading the transformation of commercial and retail sales operations at Volvo Cars. He is helping the company develop more direct relationships with users by integrating Volvo’s online sales network with retail and improving customer support through direct response channels.

Before taking on the role of CEO of Lynk & Co in Europe, Appelgren held key positions at Volvo Cars in various areas such as retail and product management, marketing, and business development. He played a crucial role in Volvo’s growth not only in the European market but also in the American market.
