While the ZS has become a hybrid (read our test drive here), its electric successor goes by the name MGS5 EV—the new electric crossover joining the lineup of the British brand owned by SAIC Motor.
This model shares a lot with the MG4 (read our test drive here), MG’s most popular electric vehicle, which is also performing well on the European market. It borrows several design elements from it too. The MGS5 EV is making its debut in Denmark, where it will be available starting in June 2025.
Features of the MGS5 EV
The newcomer presents itself as an elegant, versatile, and spacious SUV, designed to meet everyday needs with a blend of advanced technology and comfort.

Built on MG’s modular electric platform MSP—the same one used for the MG4 EV—the new SUV offers a winning combination of refined driving dynamics and long range, both in city driving and on longer trips, without sacrificing the comfort typically expected from crossovers and SUVs.

Inside, the MGS5 EV features a completely revamped cabin, with high-quality materials, upgraded finishes, and a tech package designed to deliver a more sophisticated user experience. Particularly notable is the new tablet-style display, larger than in other MG models and reportedly matte.

As always, MG focuses on a strong value-for-money proposition with the MGS5 EV. Backing up the commercial offering is a 7-year or 150,000 km warranty, included across the entire range, aimed at providing customers with peace of mind.

Details on trims, performance, and pricing will be announced in the coming weeks during the national launch.
