Starting in 2026, Mercedes-Benz will unveil a new era of multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) with the introduction of the VAN.EA modular platform, which will also feature an internal combustion version known as VAN.CA. These platforms will underpin a new generation of vans intended for private use, aiming to elevate the MPV concept into the luxury segment. Whether designed for families, VIP shuttles, or chauffeur-driven limousines, each model will cater to specific lifestyle needs. At the forefront of this revolution stands the Mercedes Vision V Concept, a striking preview of Mercedes’ top-tier offering. This concept encapsulates the brand’s vision for a new kind of mobility: a spacious, hyper-connected private lounge on wheels, where comfort and technology blend seamlessly.

A fluid exterior: dynamic elegance meets light play

The Mercedes Vision V adopts a fresh design language defined by aerodynamic fluidity and minimalist sophistication. A short front overhang, sculpted sides, and a sleek beltline contribute to a dynamic and harmonious silhouette. The flowing roofline tapers into a rounded rear, complemented by chrome accents and backlit LED slats that add depth and brilliance from every angle.

The bold front end is marked by a reimagined grille with three illuminated glass fins and nearly 200 embedded LEDs that frame the grille and headlights. The iconic illuminated Mercedes star comes to life as passengers approach, creating a theatrical welcome. Integrated indicators add to the clean, unified look.

Further design highlights include two powerdomes on the hood, prominent wheel arches, and 24-inch wheels with glowing fins. At the rear, a massive rear window is framed by over 450 backlit slats, functioning as both taillights and brake lights.

Lounge interior: craftsmanship and technology

Inside, the cockpit is dominated by the full-width Superscreen, stretching from pillar to pillar. This triple-display setup handles infotainment, navigation, and vehicle functions, while providing real-time data including driver-assist information and a 360° environmental view.

The rear cabin, accessed via an automatic sliding door and retractable step, is physically and visually separated from the front by a variable-opacity glass divider. Every detail of the lounge-style environment is crafted for maximum privacy, tranquility, and personalization.

The interior features a combination of white Nappa leather, glossy silk, and dark burl wood. Along the side walls, glass cabinets with polished aluminum trims offer elegant storage, while also housing Dolby Atmos speakers and a built-in gaming controller.

Between the two rear lounge chairs sits a central console with a hidden fold-out table that reveals a handcrafted wooden chessboard. The console adapts automatically to the position of the seats, ensuring optimal reach and comfort.

The rear seats, inspired by luxury lounge chairs, mix polished aluminum elements with flexible tubular cushions, offering full adjustability—including a flat recline option. Ambient LED lighting, from discreet strips to a central lamp, creates a customizable atmosphere. A built-in fragrance diffuser hidden behind the console completes the sensory experience.

A groundbreaking 65-inch 4K screen is integrated into the floor and rises at the start of the lounge experience, visually separating the cabin zones. It supports split-screen mode for movies, gaming, or work. The Dolby Atmos system with 42 speakers, including seat-embedded transducers, turns sound into a tactile experience.

Projectors in the roof and floor extend the visual field, while side windows double as projection surfaces. Internal lighting syncs with the music, creating a multisensory environment. Even the windows, divider, and slats are electrochromic, turning opaque or animated to ensure privacy and display dynamic digital content.

Mercedes’ Private Lounge offers seven configurable digital worlds, each curated for different moments:
