Cupra’s motorsport roots are more than inspiration — they’re the blueprint. The new Cupra Leon VZ TCR is the most powerful front-wheel-drive Leon ever, and its slightly more civil sibling,
Performance
- 0–100 km/h: 5.6 s
- Top speed: unrestricted
- Power: 325 PS / 239 kW
- Torque: 420 Nm
- Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC)
- Akebono 6‑piston brakes
- Progressive steering
It’s not just numbers: adaptive damping that reacts in milliseconds, progressive steering and a six‑piston Akebono brake package make the Leon VZ TCR as engaging to place on the limit as it is to negotiate in daily traffic. A quad copper exhaust delivers a visceral soundtrack to match its aggressive persona.
Built on racing success
Cupra’s race cars have done the heavy lifting. In 2025 the Leon VZ TCR competition car collected titles across continents — winning in TCR Europe, TCR UK, TCR Mexico and TCR France — and notched landmark victories in Zhuzhou (China) and in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at Indianapolis and Road Atlanta. That global pedigree is what this road car channels: competition-proven components, tuned for real roads.

Track-bred design philosophy
Visually, the Leon VZ TCR wears its intentions plainly. A full aerodynamic package — roof spoiler, front and rear splitters, side skirts and a rear diffuser — improves stability and gives the car a purposeful stance. Dark chrome Cupra badging, carbon fibre mirror covers and a subtle VZ TCR logo finish the exterior with a stealthy touch.

Inside, the car strips away the unnecessary. Removable rear seats, a rear strut bar with integrated net and 4‑strap harnesses for the CUPBucket seats place the driver at the centre of a focused environment. Lightweight alloy wheels and 245 mm performance tyres ensure traction and response, while a laser‑engraved serial number on the door panel marks each car’s exclusivity.
A preview of power: the Cupra Leon VZ
Before the TCR special edition arrives, Cupra will release the Leon VZ — a limited model of 1,500 units due in early 2026. It shares the same 325 PS / 420 Nm powertrain, but is packaged for everyday use with refined styling cues such as exclusive copper quad exhausts. Think of it as the accessible preview of the brand’s new front‑wheel‑drive performance era.
Made in Martorell
Designed, developed and produced at Cupra’s headquarters in Martorell, Barcelona, the Leon VZ TCR represents the crest of the brand’s engineering capability. The car will launch at the end of 2026, closing a loop that starts on the circuit and ends on the open road.
For enthusiasts and collectors alike, the Leon VZ and Leon VZ TCR are reminders that performance can be both purposeful and poetic — a rare combination in the modern hatchback market.
