Polestar updates its flagship SUV Polestar 3 MY26 with an 800‑volt electrical architecture, significantly higher performance across the range, faster DC charging up to 350 kW and a far more powerful central computer.
Polestar 3 MY26: 800‑Volt Architecture & Faster Charging
The SPA2 platform now supports an 800‑volt electrical architecture, enabling DC fast charging up to 350 kW. Polestar states a 10–80% charge in as little as 22 minutes, which is more than 25% faster versus the previous setup. Efficiency improves by up to 6% (WLTP) thanks to new CATL lithium‑ion battery packs: 92 kWh for Rear Motor versions and 106 kWh for Dual Motor and Performance variants.

All variants receive a new, in‑house permanent magnet synchronous rear motor paired with an asynchronous front motor. The Performance model produces up to 500 kW (680 hp) and 870 Nm of torque. The front motor can disengage automatically when not needed, improving efficiency in everyday driving. Polestar has also revised stabilizer bars and steering software to create a more rear‑biased and engaging driving experience.
More Compute Power
The Polestar 3 upgrades its central computer from Xavier to Nvidia Drive AGX Orin, increasing processing capability from 30 TOPS to 254 TOPS. According to Polestar, this more than eightfold increase enables faster and smarter handling of safety systems, energy management and sensor fusion.

Polestar will offer this hardware upgrade as a complimentary retrofit for existing Polestar 3 customers; installations are expected to start in early 2026.
