Mercedes-Benz has introduced its first electric station wagon, the electric Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake – a versatile variant of the CLA that was revealed earlier this year. The new model was unveiled in Copenhagen, with press photos taken near the Øresund Bridge.
Bigger and Better Looking
The second generation of the CLA Shooting Brake is significantly larger than its predecessor. It now measures 4,723 mm in length (35 mm longer), 1,469 mm in height (27 mm taller), and has a 61 mm longer wheelbase (now 2,790 mm), offering improved interior space. Rear headroom has increased by 7 mm (26 mm more than in the new sedan), and there’s an additional 14 mm of front headroom. Legroom has been improved by 11 mm in both rows.
The design also feels more dynamic compared to the sedan – it’s far from boring, with sharp styling that complements the car’s profile. The luggage compartment holds 455 litres, which is 50 litres more than the new sedan but 30 litres less than the previous generation of the Shooting Brake. However, fold the rear seats down and cargo capacity expands to 1,290 litres. As a bonus, the new CLA Shooting Brake introduces a 101-litre frunk (front trunk).
Up to 761 km Range!
Under the body, the CLA Shooting Brake shares its underpinnings with the CLA Sedan. It’s powered by an 85 kWh battery, offering an impressive range of up to 761 km (WLTP) – just 30 km less than the more aerodynamic sedan version.
Two versions are available: the CLA 250+ with 272 hp and the all-wheel-drive CLA 350+ with 354 hp. A 1.5-litre hybrid variant is expected to arrive next year. Both EV variants support DC fast charging of up to 320 kW, allowing for a 310 km range boost in just 10 minutes.

Interior
Inside, the CLA Shooting Brake closely resembles the smaller CLA Sedan. Both come with a 10.25″ digital driver display and a central 14″ touchscreen. An optional extra 14″ screen is available for the front passenger.
A panoramic sunroof stretching across the cabin enhances the sense of space and light.
