Renault will use the 2026 Paris Motor Show to look back at one of its most influential cars and forward to the electric family car of the future. The headline of its stand is the E-Space Concept, a world premiere inspired by the original Renault Espace, the car that helped create the European MPV when it was launched in 1984.
The concept will be unveiled at Renault’s press conference on 12 October at 08:30, on its stand in Hall 6 at Porte de Versailles, with a live stream for those who cannot be there.
What we know about the E-Space Concept
Renault has revealed little so far, but the main lines are clear. The E-Space Concept is 4.70 metres long and painted in a dark ruby black. Front and rear, a wide illuminated “U” follows the contours of the body, while at the centre of the front a lit-up Renault diamond appears to float in a pattern of pixels.
The name explains the idea. The “E” stands for E-Tech, Renault’s label for its electrified models, while “Space” points to a generous, high-tech and welcoming cabin. Renault describes the car as its new vision of family travel in the electric era, built around the concept it calls voitures à vivre, cars designed for living.
Technical details such as the powertrain, battery and range have not been announced, and Renault has not said whether the concept previews a production model.
The rest of the stand
The E-Space will be joined by two more concept cars, the Renault 8 Gordini Concept and the Renault 4 JP4x4 Concept, alongside several updates to the production range on a 2,500 m² stand.
The most important for buyers is the updated Megane E-Tech Electric. It gets a new exterior design and a new 67 kWh LFP battery with up to 500 km of range. DC charging performance improves by 25 percent, allowing a charge from 15 to 80 percent in 24 minutes. A new Smart Mode driving mode and Google’s Gemini AI assistant are also added.
The most extreme car on the stand is the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, shown as an engineering prototype close to the production car. With two in-wheel motors at the rear, it produces 555 hp and 4,800 Nm, making it the most powerful road-legal Renault ever.

The Twingo E-Tech Electric, only a few months on sale, gets a new option: Twingobay, a 0.7 m² panoramic glass roof that filters 99.9 percent of UV rays and is designed to work without a sunblind. Professional customers will find the new Trafic Van E-Tech Electric on the Renault Pro+ stand, while the Rafale Hypnotic special edition completes the line-up.

Our take: LFP for everyone
Beyond the concepts, the most significant news may be less visible. Renault is introducing LFP batteries across its electric range, a cheaper and more robust chemistry that helps bring prices down. Combined with over-the-air updates that add features to cars already on the road, it shows a brand trying to make its EVs better and more affordable over their lifetime, not just at launch.
For Nordic buyers, the updated Megane is the car to watch. A 500 km range and faster charging would make it more competitive in markets where long winter trips matter. We will know more about Nordic pricing and timing after the show.
