BYD has officially launched an updated version of the 2026 BYD Dolphin, Denmark’s 2023 Car of The Year, now offering more equipment at a lower price. Compared to its predecessor, the new DOLPHIN sees price reductions of up to DKK 25,000.
The updated Dolphin is available in the same two trim levels as before: Comfort and Design. The entry-level Comfort starts at DKK 214,995, DKK 20,000 cheaper than the previous version, while the Design variant starts at DKK 224,995, a DKK 25,000 reduction.

2026 BYD Dolphin: what’s new
Even the Comfort trim comes with notable improvements, including a rain sensor, heated steering wheel, and an increased DC charging capacity of up to 110 kW. The suspension has been optimized, and the cabin’s PTC heater has been upgraded to 3 kW, providing more efficient heating tailored to the Danish climate. The Design version adds ventilated front seats for extra comfort.

Externally, the Dolphin retains its well-known compact look, ensuring the familiar charm of the model remains. Both trims offer a balance of high driving comfort and spacious interiors, making the car suitable for families and commuters alike. The Dolphin delivers a range of up to 427 km per charge and a 30–80% DC charging time of 29 minutes.
2026 BYD Dolphin Comfort – starting at DKK 214,995
The Comfort trim includes LED headlights with automatic high beam, heated steering wheel, faux-leather heated front seats with 6-way electric adjustment for the driver and 4-way for the passenger, air conditioning, adaptive cruise control, rain sensor, heat pump, and 17” alloy wheels.

Inside, a 12.8-inch rotatable central touchscreen provides digital instrumentation and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The safety package includes front and rear parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a 360-degree camera. Comfort also supports V2L power sharing.
2026 BYD Dolphin Design – Starting at DKK 224,995
For just DKK 10,000 more, the Design trim adds ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade, and tinted rear windows. The starting price is DKK 224,995, DKK 25,000 lower than the previous model.
The 2026 BYD Dolphin comes with a six-year or 150,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. The electric motor is covered for eight years or 150,000 km, while the battery enjoys an eight-year warranty or up to 200,000 km. Service is required every two years or 30,000 km, depending on which comes first.
