Subaru has unveiled its latest model, the all-new Subaru Uncharted, a fully electric SUV.

Although initially built for the North American market, a European version is also on the way. It will be officially presented later today, alongside two other new EVs. Uncharted is built on Toyota’s well-known e-TNGA platform, sharing its underpinnings with the electric Toyota C-HR+, but stands out with a more rugged design and Subaru’s trademark off-road capabilities.

Up to 585 km range!

The Uncharted will be offered in three versions: Single Range, Long Range, and Dual Motor. While the North American model features a 74.4 kWh battery, Subaru will offer either a 77 kWh or a smaller 57 kWh battery in Europe. For those who prioritize Subaru’s legendary all-wheel drive, it will be available on models with the 77 kWh battery. Subaru calls this the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system with X-Mode, designed to enhance traction on loose surfaces like gravel, dirt, or snow.

These AWD models deliver 343 hp and an estimated range of up to 467 km. The fastest version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds.

The Uncharted distinguishes itself from its Toyota sibling with more rugged front and rear bumpers, unique headlights and taillights. Charging is possible at up to 150 kW DC, enabling 10% to 80% charge in about 30 minutes. At home, it supports 22 kW AC charging.

Specifications: Subaru Uncharted (2026) – Updated for EU Specs

Version Motor Configuration Power Range (estimated)
Single Range Single electric motor (FWD) – 57.7 kWh 224 hp 445 km
Long Range Dual electric motors (AWD – Symmetrical) – 77 kWh 338 hp 585 km
Dual Motor Dual electric motors (AWD) – 77 kWh 338 hp 470 km

Inside, the Uncharted’s cabin closely resembles the Toyota C-HR’s. It features a 14″ infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster. The GT trim adds a touch of luxury with a panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats, digital rearview mirror, and a Harman Kardon audio system. Importantly, the trunk offers over 700 liters of space.

Also Coming to Europe!

Pricing and the final European name are still unknown. It remains to be seen whether it will retain the “Uncharted” name in Europe. From our perspective, this model feels like the spiritual electric successor to the Subaru Crosstrek, even though it’s technically a different vehicle. The Uncharted is smaller than the new Solterra. Later today, we expect to see the European versions of the facelifted Solterra, Trailseeker, and Uncharted.
