A major change is coming to public transport in Zealand as the Rejsebillet app, already used across Jutland, Funen, and Bornholm, will soon become the standard ticketing solution for passengers in the eastern region of Denmark as well.
This nationwide shift marks the final step in unifying ticketing systems under Rejsekort as an app, which was launched in 2023 to simplify the travel experience across the country. As a result, the DOT Billetter app – currently used by many commuters in Zealand – will be phased out by the end of 2025.
To ensure a smooth transition, DOT – Din Offentlige Transport has published a detailed guide on dinoffentligetransport.dk, where users can see when specific ticket types and commuter cards will become available in the Rejsebillet app, and how to make the switch.
DOT assures that all affected users will be notified well in advance, with the transition unfolding step by step.
One of the first changes will affect Ungdomskort (Youth Cards):
- From June 11, they will no longer be viewable in DOT Billetter and must be accessed through Rejsebillet instead.
- If your Youth Card is valid beyond that date, you can continue to use it in the DOT app until it expires
