Leapmotor, the Chinese EV maker that sells its cars in Europe through a joint venture with Stellantis, has used the 2026 Paris Motor Show to reveal the European version of the B03. The compact, fully electric hatchback offers up to 390 km of WLTP range and enters one of the most competitive segments in Europe, the market for affordable small EVs.
The B03 is sold in China as the A05. In Europe, it is the lower, hatchback sibling of the B03X crossover launched only weeks ago, and joins a growing range that already includes the T03 city car and the B10 and C10 SUVs.
Close to 200 hp and fast charging
The B03 is built on Leapmotor’s Compact Electric Platform. A front-mounted electric motor produces 145 kW, or about 197 PS, and 200 Nm of torque, enough for 0–100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. That is a lot of power for a car of this size.

The 53 kWh battery gives a WLTP range of up to 390 km, slightly more than the B03X with the same battery. With its 2.5C charging capability, the B03 can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 21 minutes, at up to 133 kW. On AC, the 7.4 kW onboard charger fills the battery in just over seven hours, and the car also supports vehicle-to-load, so it can power external devices.

More space than its size suggests
At just under 4.2 metres long, the B03 is a compact car, but Leapmotor has focused on interior space. With a 2.6-metre wheelbase, rear passengers get up to 888 mm of legroom.

There are more than 30 storage compartments, a waterproof storage area called the Leap Box, and the LeapFlex system that allows different rear seat configurations. With the rear seats folded, the luggage space grows to as much as 1,305 litres.
Well equipped as standard
The equipment list is generous for the segment. A 14.6-inch floating touchscreen runs Leap OS 4.0 Plus, alongside an 8.8-inch digital instrument display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, as are over-the-air updates. Heated seats, a heated steering wheel and automatic climate control are standard on every version, along with 21 driver assistance systems.
Price still unknown
The most important number is still missing. Leapmotor has not yet published European prices. In the UK, sales are due to start in early 2027 with a single, well-equipped trim, and British magazine Autocar expects a starting price below GBP 25,000. Some French media have suggested a price around EUR 20,000, but this has not been confirmed.
If Leapmotor can hit that level, the B03 will become a serious rival to small EVs such as the Renault 5, the BYD Dolphin Surf and the Geely E2. Prices and launch dates for Denmark, Sweden and Norway have not yet been confirmed.
