Kia is expanding its European electric vehicle lineup with the arrival of the EV2, a fully electric compact SUV developed, designed and manufactured on the continent. Starting from DKK 184,999, the new model marks Kia’s most affordable entry point in Denmark while promising the practicality, technology and safety features typically reserved for larger and more expensive vehicles.
The Danish market launch follows the vehicle’s introduction across Europe, with production already underway at Kia’s facility in Žilina, Slovakia. Standard Range versions are currently in production, while Long Range, GT-Line and Black-Line variants will begin manufacturing in July, with dealer availability expected across Denmark by August.

Two battery options, one confident promise on range
The EV2 arrives with a choice between a 42.2 kWh standard battery delivering 147 horsepower and up to 317 kilometres of WLTP range, or a 61.0 kWh long-range battery rated for 453 kilometres per charge. Both rely on Kia’s 400V architecture and support rapid charging from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 30 minutes under optimal conditions.
A key differentiator is charging flexibility. The EV2 is the first Kia model at launch to support both 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging, enabling owners to adapt to home infrastructure, workplace installations or public charging networks without compromise. Higher trim levels can optionally add a 2-way on-board charger with V2L capability or a 22 kW charger supporting vehicle-to-load functionality.
All models except the entry-level Access variant can tow 750 kilograms with or without trailer brakes, a practical inclusion for Danish owners balancing city driving with weekend excursions.
From Access to GT-Line: What defines each variant
The Standard Range battery is available in three configurations: Access, Prestige and Upgrade. The Long Range variant expands to four trim levels, adding GT-Line and a new Black-Line option.
Even the Access entry point includes a comprehensive list of standard equipment: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, rear-view camera, active blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, over-the-air software updates and a 60:40 split-folding rear seat. The triple-screen cockpit comprises a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch infotainment display and 5.3-inch climate control screen.
Stepping up to Prestige adds three rear seats, DC pre-conditioning, a heat pump, 16-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, acoustic laminated windshield, electrically folding mirrors and roof rails.
The Upgrade level introduces Highway Driving Assist 2, electrically adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, rear air vents, automatic flush door handles, tinted windows, 18-inch alloy wheels, navigation and wireless mobile charging.
GT-Line brings a sportier visual identity with distinctive design elements, a three-spoke steering wheel and aluminium cabin accents, complemented by ambient lighting, rear armrests with cup holders, leatherette upholstery, 19-inch alloys and a Harman Kardon premium audio system. The new Black-Line variant pursues a design-forward approach with black Kia badges, black 19-inch wheels, glossy black bezels and door panels, plus the option of a black roof stripe. Interior trim shifts to dark grey and black tones, reinforcing the model’s more exclusive character.
Designed for city living, engineered for versatility
Compact dimensions make the EV2 genuinely easy to navigate and park in urban environments, yet the vehicle punches above its weight class in interior space. From Prestige trim onwards, buyers can specify a four-seat configuration with sliding and adjustable rear seats for DKK 4,999. This flexibility allows occupants to choose between additional legroom or expanded luggage capacity, pushing boot volume beyond 400 litres when rear seats are pushed forward, a spatial achievement more commonly associated with vehicles in a significantly larger segment.
Optional packages further enhance the EV2’s appeal. Upgrade models can be equipped with a two-way on-board charger or a more capable 22 kW charger with vehicle-to-load functionality. A comprehensive parking package is available for DKK 8,999, bundling rear collision avoidance assistance, blind-spot view monitor, 360-degree surround view and remote smart parking assist.
