Here’s the full Gamescom 2026 schedule, from Opening Night Live to the Future Games Show

Gamescom 2026 is only a few weeks away, and with it comes a packed week of showcases covering everything from major first party reveals to a fresh wave of indie games. The show floor opens to the public in Cologne, Germany, at the Koelnmesse convention centre, but the run of livestreamed showcases kicks off a day earlier and continues well into the following week.

When Gamescom 2026 runs

Gamescom week runs from 26 to 30 August, with Opening Night Live setting things in motion the evening before, on 25 August. The show floor itself opens to the public on the 26th. Beyond Opening Night Live, the schedule includes two separate Xbox broadcasts, the return of the Future Games Show across three separate shows, and a dedicated indie showcase.

Gamescom Opening Night Live leads with Final Fantasy 7 Revelation

Opening Night Live kicks off proceedings on 25 August, preceded by a pre-show starting half an hour earlier. Hosted by Geoff Keighley and Eefje Depoortere, the main showcase is expected to bring a mix of premieres, exclusive announcements, trailers and gameplay reveals, alongside the usual handful of surprises. Confirmed so far are another look at Final Fantasy 7 Revelation with game director Naoki Hamaguchi, and an appearance from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past, the game’s expansion. The show streams on YouTube and Twitch.

Xbox Gamescom 2026 broadcast covers 25 years of the console

Xbox returns to Gamescom with two separate live broadcasts, framed around celebrating 25 years of the platform. The first airs on 26 August, showcasing upcoming Xbox Series X titles including Fable, alongside trailers, gameplay reveals, interviews and special guests.

A second broadcast follows the next day, 27 August, with more new games in action along with further developer interviews, news and surprises. Both stream on YouTube and Twitch.

Future Games Show returns with three separate shows

The Future Games Show is back at Gamescom with over 90 minutes of content on 26 August, hosted by Resident Evil Requiem actors Nick Apostolides (Leon Kennedy) and Angela Sant’Albano (Grace Ashcroft). Expect developer deep dives, demo drops, world premieres and exclusive trailers, streaming on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and X.

Immediately afterward, the FGS editorial team moves to the show floor for FGS Live from Gamescom, covering further premieres, news and interviews from Cologne. The trio wraps up on 30 August with FGS Best of Gamescom, recapping the event’s biggest announcements alongside booth tours and developer insights.

Gamescom Awesome Indies spotlights indie games

Rounding out the schedule, Gamescom Awesome Indies returns on 27 August, with exact timing still to be confirmed. Running for roughly 60 to 75 minutes, the show focuses on previews, exclusive trailers, interviews and gameplay from indie games from around the world, streaming on YouTube and Twitch.

What else to expect at Gamescom 2026

A long list of major publishers is confirmed to take part this year, including Bandai Namco, Xbox, Nintendo, Krafton, NetEase Games, Ubisoft, Sega, HoYoverse and Team17, among others. Playable demos on the show floor are set to include Gears of War: E-Day, Rayman Legends Retold, Stranger Than Heaven, Minecraft Dungeons 2, Forza Horizon 6, Persona 4 Revival and Alien Isolation 2.

Xbox has also confirmed several anticipated titles for its own booth, including Fable, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Metro 2039, while Bandai Namco’s playable lineup includes The Blood of Dawnwalker, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3.
