Aston Martin has unveiled the Valhalla Spider, the open version of its hybrid hypercar. It shares the lines and the powertrain of the coupé, with 1,079 hp from a V8 and three electric motors, and adds a removable roof. The car made its debut at the Wynn Las Vegas Concours 2026, and deliveries are planned for the third quarter of 2027.
Two roofs and two top speeds
As standard, the Valhalla Spider has a black fabric roof that can be removed and refitted, designed to preserve the profile of the coupé. With this roof in place the top speed is 200 km/h.

Buyers can instead choose a carbon fibre hard top, which is fitted as standard on cars delivered in the United States. With it, the car reaches 350 km/h, an electronically limited figure that Aston Martin says can also be reached with no roof fitted. This makes the Valhalla Spider the fastest open Aston Martin the company has built.
Aerodynamics for open air driving
With the roof removed, a dedicated wind deflector directs the air over the occupants, limiting turbulence in the cabin while still feeding the engine. The air intake has been redesigned and raised by 35 mm compared with the coupé.

When the roof is fitted, the deflector folds into three parts and is stored in new storage compartments of 15 litres in the sides of the car. The control units for the active aerodynamics and the stability control have been recalibrated to adapt to the airflow with the roof on or off. Downforce remains above 600 kg with the roof fitted.
Same hybrid V8 as the coupé
The powertrain is unchanged. A 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 produces 828 hp, and three electric motors add 251 hp. Combined output is 1,079 hp, with 1,100 Nm of torque.

Two of the electric motors drive the front axle and provide torque vectoring. The third is integrated into the eight speed dual clutch gearbox and assists the V8 on the rear axle.
Carbon fibre structure and new seats
The structure is a carbon fibre monocoque developed with Aston Martin Performance Technologies, the division that works closely with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 team. The upper and lower sections combine resin transfer moulding with autoclave technology derived from Formula 1.

The carbon fibre butterfly doors remain, now with improved kinematics and a frameless design. A more curved glass area makes it easier to get in and out with the roof fitted.

A new Touring seat in carbon fibre is standard and aims to improve comfort and access when the roof is on. Customers who prefer a sportier driving position can ask for the original coupé seat at no extra cost.
Price and availability
Aston Martin has not announced a price for the Valhalla Spider. It is expected to exceed the one million euros asked for the coupé. Deliveries start in the third quarter of 2027, and pricing for Denmark, Sweden and Norway has not been confirmed.
