For NordiskBil, the Zeekr 9X is not a new name. We have been following this project for a long time, starting with our first interview with Jon Rådbrink, Zeekr’s head of design on the 9X. We then saw the car in the metal in China at the Beijing Motor Show, alongside its smaller sibling, the Zeekr 8X. Now the big luxury SUV has arrived in Scandinavia, and we were at its Swedish presentation.
The 9X is Zeekr’s new flagship: a six-seat plug-in hybrid SUV with 897 hp, priced from SEK 1,300,000 in Sweden. First deliveries to Swedish customers are planned for December 2026. Prices for Denmark and Norway have not yet been announced.
Our first impression: seriously well made
Seeing the 9X up close, our verdict is clear: this is a genuinely well-made car. It is imposing, highly original in its styling, and the attention to materials is obvious everywhere you look. From the leather to the wood and the choice of metals, the quality is well above most of its rivals.

The 9X makes no attempt to blend in. It is more than 5.2 metres long and over two metres wide, with an upright, imposing shape that clearly targets the established luxury SUV segment. Zeekr stresses that the car was designed in Gothenburg, giving this Chinese flagship a strong Scandinavian connection, and something Nordic buyers are likely to notice.
Six individual seats
The Swedish version is called 9X Ultra AWD and comes with six individual seats. The second row offers electrically adjustable chairs with massage, ventilation, heating and powered leg rests, while a full third row completes the six-seat layout.

Screens play a central role. The driver and front passenger get two 16-inch OLED displays, a separate instrument cluster and a large head-up display. Rear passengers have a fold-down, sliding 17-inch screen and a removable control screen. Zeekr has, however, kept physical controls for some key functions.

The equipment list is long from the start. Standard features include a Naim sound system with 32 speakers, the rear entertainment screen, power-operated doors, a split electric tailgate, a panoramic glass roof, 22-inch wheels and a built-in fridge that can also heat its contents, working between -6 and +50 °C. A Black Edition with dark exterior details is available as an option.
897 hp and 179 km on electricity
Although much of the 9X’s technology is electric, this is a plug-in hybrid. Two electric motors work with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine for a combined 897 hp and 935 Nm. Zeekr quotes 0–100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h, impressive figures for a car with a kerb weight of 2,900 kg.

The battery has a gross capacity of 55.1 kWh, enough for up to 179 km of electric driving and a total range of up to 737 km. Unusually for a plug-in hybrid, the 9X uses a 900-volt architecture and charges at up to 330 kW, going from 10 to 80 percent in just 9.5 minutes under the right conditions. That makes it realistic to drive on electricity even on longer trips.

It is also a practical car. Towing capacity is 2,000 kg, and the boot holds 677 litres with the third row folded and up to 2,148 litres with the second row folded too.

From Beijing to Scandinavia
Seeing the 9X again in Sweden, after our interview with Jon Rådbrink and our first encounter in Beijing, shows how quickly Zeekr is moving. Zeekr is already one of the Chinese brands driving growth in the Danish market, and with the 9X it is now taking on the most demanding customers of all.

At this price, buyers will expect not only a premium product, but also premium service and long-term reliability. The next step is to find out how the 9X drives, and we look forward to telling you.
