The popular Volvo EX40 and EC40 are becoming even more attractive for Danish buyers. The EX40 has already been Volvo’s best-selling model in Denmark this year, and now both electric crossovers receive additional standard equipment—while prices have been sharpened.

Two New Trim Levels Introduced

Volvo is introducing two new variants in Denmark: Ultra Excess and Black Edition Excess. These new “Excess” versions build on—and replace—the already well-equipped Ultra and Black Edition trims.

Choosing an Excess model gives buyers both the Climate Package and the Lounge Package as standard. Highlights include:

  • Advanced Pixel LED headlights
  • Heated steering wheel and heated rear seats
  • Heat pump to improve usable range in cold weather

The Ultra Excess also includes 20-inch alloy wheels (already standard on Black Edition). Metallic paint is standard on Excess models—except for the colour Crystal White, which remains an optional extra.

Prices

Starting prices for Denmark:

Model & Trim Price (DKK) Taxation value (DKK)
EX40 / EC40 Single Motor Extended Range — Ultra Excess / Black Edition Excess 374,900 kr. 353,083 kr.
EX40 / EC40 Twin Motor — 408 hp (Excess) 418,900 kr. 396,172 kr.

Prices for the EC40 are identical to the EX40 for matching powertrain and equipment configurations.

“Many Danes make rational choices when buying a new car. The combination of an attractive price, a high equipment level on EX40 and EC40, and our new five-year warranty on fully electric models hits the sweet spot,”

Tobias Altehed, Managing Director, Volvo Car Denmark

Model Lineup Changes

With the introduction of the Excess trims, the Plus variant will be discontinued. The entry-level Core trim remains available in Volvo’s Danish model programme.

With these updates, Volvo aims to strengthen its position in Denmark’s competitive electric vehicle market—offering premium Scandinavian design, more standard features, and long-term peace of mind at a sharper price.
