Volvo’s fully electric ES90 sedan is growing its Danish lineup. The Twin Motor and Twin Motor Performance variants have now arrived, completing the model’s range for the new model year and giving buyers a choice that spans from long-range touring to high-performance driving — all without compromising on the marque’s hallmark comfort or safety credentials. The new model year also introduces the Forest Lake exterior colour to the ES90 for the very first time.
Two New Twin Motor Variants
The standard Twin Motor delivers 456 hp, while the range-topping Twin Motor Performance pushes that figure to 680 hp. Both versions share the same WLTP-certified range of up to 687 kilometres and support DC fast-charging at up to 350 kW — among the highest charging rates currently available in the passenger car segment.
For reference, the existing Single Motor variant produces 333 hp and supports charging at up to 310 kW. All three versions of the ES90 are built on an 800-volt electrical architecture, which underpins the exceptional charging performance across the entire lineup.
Thanks to this 800V platform, the Twin Motor variants can recover up to 290 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes at a compatible fast-charger. A full charge from 10 to 80 percent takes approximately 22 minutes under optimal conditions.

Comfort, Refinement and Versatility
The ES90 was engineered with cabin tranquillity as a core priority. Volvo describes it as one of the quietest interiors in its segment, supported by air suspension that smooths out both urban commutes and long motorway journeys. Acoustic glazing further isolates occupants from road and wind noise.
Practicality extends to a towing capacity of up to 2,000 kg, making the ES90 one of the few full-size electric sedans capable of pulling a trailer, horse box or caravan without compromise.
On the safety front — an area where Volvo has always led the way — the ES90 comes with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems as standard. These include Pilot Assist for semi-autonomous motorway driving and Park Pilot Assist to ease parking in tight urban spaces. Both systems are now standard across the model range.
Introducing Forest Lake
The new model year also brings the Forest Lake exterior colour to the ES90. While the shade is already available on other models in the Volvo lineup, this is the first time it has been offered on the ES90. The deep, nature-inspired green complements the car’s clean Scandinavian proportions particularly well.
