Tesla has expanded its Model Y lineup with the introduction of a new seven-seat configuration. Following the launch of the Model Y Standard late last year and the most efficient version earlier in 2026, the company now adds a more versatile option designed for families and customers requiring additional passenger capacity.
The seven-seat layout is available exclusively on the Model Y Premium Long Range All-Wheel Drive, offering up to 600 km of range (WLTP).
Made for families
The addition of a third row introduces two forward-facing, foldable seats, enabling space for up to seven passengers when needed. The modular layout ensures the vehicle can easily adapt between passenger transport and cargo duties.
Access to the third row is managed via buttons located on the outer second-row seatbacks. When activated, the second row slides forward and folds, allowing convenient entry and exit for rear passengers.

The seven-seat Model Y offers up to 2,094 liters of total cargo capacity. Built on a dedicated electric platform, the vehicle benefits from optimized storage distribution without the constraints of a combustion engine or fuel tank.
- 116 liters of front trunk storage
- 381 liters behind the third row
- 894 liters with the third row folded
Even with seven occupants on board, the rear compartment accommodates two carry-on suitcases, while the front trunk provides space for two large bags. With the third row folded flat, the luggage area can easily store strollers, scooters, and additional equipment.
Tesla Model Y Seven Seats focuses on comfort
The Model Y Premium Long Range AWD builds on the refined design introduced in the Premium series. The cabin features wraparound ambient lighting and soft-touch materials to enhance overall comfort.
Front passengers benefit from a 16-inch central touchscreen powered by Tesla’s proprietary software. Ventilated and heated front seats automatically synchronize with the climate system to maintain optimal temperature.
Second-row passengers have access to an 8-inch touchscreen offering entertainment features, games, and additional climate controls. Bluetooth connectivity allows pairing with individual headphones, ideal for longer journeys.
Passengers in the third row benefit from practical headroom and two USB-C charging ports for devices.
Acoustic glass throughout the cabin, upgraded suspension hardware, and refined chassis tuning ensure a smooth, quiet driving experience. The panoramic glass roof enhances the sense of space, while the 15-speaker premium audio system with subwoofer delivers high-quality sound throughout the cabin.
