Polestar has confirmed its Formula 2030 concept car, delivered as part of a wider 2030 strategy aimed at continuing the Swedish brand’s growth and driving it toward profitability. The concept is designed to showcase the future direction of Polestar’s design language while reinforcing the brand’s established pillars of performance, technology and sustainability.

A preview of the next Polestar 2 and the upcoming Polestar 7

Formula 2030 previews design attributes that will appear on the new Polestar 2, planned for launch in 2027, as well as the forthcoming Polestar 7, while placing particular emphasis on the brand’s performance credentials. Led by Philipp Römers, Polestar’s design team has developed what the company describes as a bold evolution of its established Scandinavian form language, extending exterior and interior design, material innovation and sustainability into their next chapter.

“A bold evolution, not a revolution”

Römers, Head of Design at Polestar, says the brand’s design and identity are already strong enough that an obvious evolution, rather than a revolution, was the right approach. He notes that Formula 2030 showcases Polestar’s future while respecting brand defining elements such as the familiar Dual Blade headlights, ensuring the concept remains clearly recognisable as a Polestar with a strong, characterful identity.

First reveal for investors and VIP customers in Gothenburg

The concept will first be shown to Polestar investors, retailers and a select group of VIP customers during an exclusive behind-the-scenes preview, held as part of a comprehensive Formula 2030 strategy event at The Cube, Polestar’s headquarters in Gothenburg.
