We’ve been at the global pre-reveal event in Milan for the all-new Norton Manx R, the flagship of Norton Motorcycles’ Resurgence. This superbike embodies Norton’s commitment to crafting some of the world’s most desirable motorcycles, blending innovation, emotional design, and real-world performance.

The Manx R aims to redefine the premium superbike segment by delivering a nuanced, charismatic experience tailored for both road and track. Every element of this motorcycle is designed to forge a visceral connection between rider and machine, making each journey feel alive, intuitive, and emotionally engaging.

Norton Manx R: its design speaks itself

Chief Creative Advisor Professor Gerry McGovern and Head of Design Simon Skinner explained that Norton’s design philosophy focuses on four principles: modern, integrated, dramatic, and connected.

The Manx R is a technical sculpture, inspired by high-end timepieces with exposed workings, and its clean, reductive lines create a forward-focused stance even when stationary.

At the heart of the Manx R lies a brand-new 1,200 cc V4 engine, producing 206 hp at 11,500 rpm and 130 Nm of torque peaking at 9,000 rpm. Designed for real-world usability, the engine delivers peak performance where it truly matters – between 5,000 and 10,000 rpm.

Set up

Norton’s engineers prioritized real-world road dynamics over racetrack extremes. The single-cast frame offers optimal stiffness and controlled flex, while the semi-active suspension, co-developed with Marzocchi, continuously adapts to road conditions in real time.

Braking is handled by Brembo HYPURE calipers on dual 330 mm front and single 245 mm rear discs, integrated with lean-sensitive ABS for unparalleled control. Lightweight 17-inch BST carbon-fiber wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4SP tires complete the performance package.

The Manx R integrates an advanced 10.3 Bosch electronic platform, offering rider-assist systems including:

  • Cornering Cruise Control
  • Five Ride Modes with suspension and power adjustments
  • Traction, wheelie, and slope-dependent controls
  • Quick shifter, auto rev-matching, and Optimal Gear Shift Suggestion

Connectivity is handled through an 8-inch TFT touchscreen with GoPro integration, smart device synchronization, multimedia control, and Bluetooth. Norton ensures technology enhances the ride without distraction, putting the rider first.

The Manx R also boasts Keyless Entry, signature Daytime Running Lights and Welcome Lighting, service Reminders, Live Tracking, Remote Immobilization, and Theft Alerts
